We only lived in the Wake Forest area for about 2 years, but in that time we never found a better place for breakfast/lunch. ... The first time we went in, we sat at the counter and were waited on by Ashley (she left to go to college) and soon after, notonly did we meet the owner (Letty) but Grandma herself! First: the prices are very reasonable. We would get breakfast mostdays, but lunch here and there. It was never a "break the bank" experience at all. Second: the food was always delicious. Breakfast was almost always cooked perfectly and when there was an issue, Wamba would fix it (he was the head cook at the time). Lunch was amazing too. They make their own burgers and use Martin's potato rolls (when I was there) which is a recipe fordelicious in my opinion. The fries were cooked perfectly as well. Third: the atmosphere is somewhere between an old and new"mom and pop" diner. Pictures of family and staff (still family in a way) adorn the halls to the restrooms along with picturesthat kids who visit will color for Grandma. Fourth: you will come for the food, and you may come back for the food, but thestaff is what brought me back too. Grandma, Letty, Pop... they are all simply wonderful folks and they will make sure you havea good experience. TL/DR: good food, reasonable prices, good service, friendly staff/owner Read more

The wait staff made the visit worthwhile. They made an attempt at trying to fix the food in the way that I asked, but I feel... that the food was pretty low grade to begin with. The hash browns tasted like plastic, when all I did was asked for them to becrisped a little bit. The sausage didn't taste very good. The coffee tastes like it had been sitting around a while. So theyneed to work a little bit harder at their food selections. But the waitress was very attentive very friendly and made the visitworthwhile. Read more

Came in for quick bite. Ordered Sunshine Skillet. Home fries hard/not cooked and no onions. No bacon as described on menu. ... Staff not checking due to 1 waitress and Manager left. Wife got BLT and said very good. Expensive for price when no whereclose to what supposed to be. Disappointing. Prior times very good. Read more

We were really excited to try this little dinner! I love supporting local over chain most of the time. However, I would rather... wait the 30 minutes for a table at Waffle House. The food was overpriced compared to the taste and atmosphere. The staff wasn'tvery attentive. My husband and I both got the Grandpa's Big Breakfast and kids breakfast plate which was $40! The bacon orpotatoes weren't completely cooked, and it said we were supposed to get 2 eggs but no way it was 2. Overall not a greatexperience and highly unlikely we would go back. Read more

Noisy and crowded on a Sunday morning. Friendly employees. Decent food for the price, which was quite reasonable. Standard... breakfast fare. Our orders were filled accurately. They were admittedly short staffed when we visited, so service was a littlebit slow. I wish they had Coke products instead of Pepsi, but I can live with that disappointment. I'll go back when I can.
