Great winery, great knowledgeable hosts. Wines are the best we have found in Michigan or Ohio. Can?t recommend it enough!

Vermilion Valley Vineyards, Wakeman Ohio: Beautiful and rustic outside, lovely and contemporary inside.  Being an estate... winery they only use grapes that they grow themselves and boy do they turn those grapes into something amazing! Off the beatenpath (in a good way) they are Located in the LAKE ERIE Appellation.  Growing their grapes on 120 acres and turning them intosome of the best tasting wine I've had in a long time.  They are very aware of the impact farming can have on the environmentand do everything possible to maintain sustainable practices. They are a Harvest host site and it was very easy to get in andout of the area they give you to park in. There are beautiful views of the grapes all the way around you and a lovely pond tolook at while sipping a glass (or three -????  ????) of your favorite wine on their back deck. If you're not sure of what youwant to drink they offer flights at a very reasonable price so you can find that special blend that makes you happy. The ownerwas very pleasant and took his time explaining the various wines and even the order best to try them in. When we are passingthrough this area again we won't hesitate to stop here and enjoy the views, friendship and wines. Read more

Let me start by saying we are very picky about wine, we thought all of them were awful except the pear cider. That one was good... enough to buy a bottle, but it?s in a beer bottle? The other ones we tried were late harvest, sweet vermilion & honey mead. Itlooks really run down on the outside. It?s cute inside but it stunk really bad. The girl who started helping us was kinda rude.Overall I don?t recommend this place. Read more

It was such a nice experience! Quite a few tables set up outside to enjoy some fresh air and be able to socially distance. You... go inside to grab your bottle/glasses of wine and bring them back to your area. The wine itself was pretty average, butprovided a fun time for my group nonetheless. The best part was the view and foliage as seen in the pictures. The kids alsohad a blast running around, and we didn't feel like they were disturbing anyone. Read more
