We eat to sustain life... so in this regard the place meet that qualification.. I arrived at the restaurant with my guest.... We were seated rather quickly It did take quite a while for someone to come to the table. I will say the server was quitepleasant and the ambience Was nice. They have a bar with a television to view the latest Sporting event. My guest loved thatside of the restaurant and said the drinks were really good. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was prepared rather well. However our main courses left a lot to be desired. I had the Cajun shrimp and pasta and our hostess recommended that I ask forextra Cajun. On the menu it states that it is spicy. My guest had the salmon with garlic butter and spinach. The meal alsocame with smashed potatoes. Well my pasta was quite bland I had to ask for more Cajun spice which only made it salty it didn'tmake it spicy at all. My guest stated that the spinach was the best thing about the meal the mashed potatoes were good also,however the salmon wasn't very good at all. The portions were OK but the food wasn't season very well and I would like to saythat it is a little bit overpriced. I would return for drinks but I wouldn't return for dinner any time soon. Went there this past Sat with my family for my Birthday dinner which was a last minute decision to go there and I have no... complaints!! From the ambiance, to the drinks, the appetizers, the food and service was amazing not to mention it's blackowned!! Perfect for date night, girls night out or family dinner you will not be disappointed. On Fri and Sat nights from 9pm-12they have a DJ and do Karaoke!! I heard their Sunday brunch is amazing also. My family and I will definitely be back!! Oh forgetto mention we had the crab dip which was bomb I got some to go. The deviled eggs are delicious. The teriyaki salmon is so goodthat my dad doesn't even care for salmon but tasted my sister plate and ordered it as well. The red velvet cake was delicious aswell. Overall very pleasing dining experience with great ambiance. The staff was professional, friendly, and very attentive. Love the... fact that there is separate dining area from the bar and although there were people at the bar it didn't get too loud. Last butnot the least, the food that we tried was absolutely delicious. We tried their "Fresh Catfish Fingers, the Jambalaya, and theShrimp & Grits". What a pleasant "store front" surprise! After reading so many positive reviews I decided to visit the Red Tails Restaurant.... Located in West Waldorf, Maryland on St. Patrick's drive the restaurant is unpretentious, modern, clean, spacious, and inviting.One slight glitch was the person at the front greeter's desk was less than welcoming and made no eye contact - which was animmediate turnoff for me - I like happy-a-life greeters. I dismissed it as youth, lack of interest in the job, and possiblymissed thorough training follow-up. Thus, the rating was 4 stars in this area. 5 stars in all the other categories. That said,the menu had a wonderful array of choices to select. I ordered the stuffed eggs (without the bacon), fried oysters, and a cup ofcrab chowder soup. My guest ordered the cream of broccoli soup and the salmon Caesar salad. Beverage was cranberry and orangejuice mixed. (See photos). For dessert we shared a slice of carrot cake with pecan drizzle. (Photo shows we ate it)! Thebackground music - Earth, Wind, and Fire album added to the warm, comfy dining experience. Although there was a visible footballgame going on in the bar area, it wasn't overly loud, and didn't interfere with our pleasant dining experience. All in all wewere pleased with the entire meal and environment. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant. Check out themenu before going and make reservations if possible.
