Completely overrated, old run down restaurant. Sat in back room, linens were not clean. Bread was old, but toasted to make it... seem fresh. Calamari were rubbery, over fried. Had the shrimp carbonara, it was really good, nice a creamy, just like it should be. Service was alright, they seemed short... staffed. Had a friendly atmosphere with a lot of local repeat patrons. That?s a good sign. Pricing to me seemed a little on thehigh side, but not crazy. Read more
I was recommended this spot when I asked what to eat around Wallingford. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my food, it... seemed to be over cooked and inedible. I had to throw it out shortly after receiving it, and went elsewhere. The spot is nicelyset up and in a good location. Staff was friendly and attentive. The wife and I visited recently for our anniversary. We both had excellent meals and a great experience. We love the... atmosphere and the ability to "people watch" through their glass windows. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Meals were priced very well and portions were generous. We have been coming here for the good part of 15 years and willcontinue to do so. I've always enjoyed eat in or take out from here....until yesterday. I called a to go order in of lasagna, a pizza, and a slice... of what has always been a good slice of banana cream pie. The lasagna had obviously been sitting around in a fridge for quitesome time and the center was cold. The pizza was very salty, too much so for me to eat. And I like salt. And then what isusually a delicious slice of pie was ruined by garlic. Yes, garlic. The only thing I can figure is it was either cut with aknife that had been used to chop garlic or somehow if came in contact with a surface that had a bunch of cut garlic on it. Ialways thought that Michaels was a gem in town but come on guys. You're slipping. The young man that greeted me at the door waspleasant and helpful when I came for pickup. That's the only reason for the 2 stars. But the food was all tossed out. Read more
