Hidden Gem. That's what comes to mind when I think of Alessio's Seafood Grill. A place most people, like myself, have probably... passed 100's of times going up and down on 611 but never gave much thought to because it looks small and the parking can seemintimidating. If it wasn't for my 95 year old grandma looking for a specific Italian dish, I never would have discovered thiswonderful restaurant. She was in the mood for Spaghetti with grilled shrimp. In this area there was only two places that wouldbe able to accommodate that. I just wanted to find something close so for the first time I decided to give Alessio's a shot. Icalled first and asked two questions, "Are you busy?" and "Can you make this pasta?". The very nice woman I talked to on thephone told us there was plenty of room. Luckily for us it was 2:30 in the afternoon and most people don't go out to eat mealsaround that time. I also inquired as to if they could make spaghetti with grilled shrimp to which they replied "We can make youanything you want, just tell us what you want and we'll make it happen". When we got there I was a little nervous about mygrandmother getting inside but the premises were flat and level enough for this 95 year old woman navigate with her walker. Wewere immediately greeted in a kind and welcoming manner and told to sit where ever we chose. The inside was on the small sidebut spread out enough so were didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other patrons. Joey was our waiter and I can emphasizeenough how polite, respectable, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly this man was. He gave suggestions, got to know us, whatwe like, where we're from, and helped us find exactly what we were looking for. He also told us that everything is made in house so we'll see the difference from the other place when were order it. Seriously some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Very small dining room but a great, upscale ambiance. It’s BYOB so... definitely good to keep in mind if you want a *drink* with your meal. But really, the service was great, food was fantastic &the prices were fair!! Definitely recommend asking for some bread for the table. They serve it with garlic & fresh mozzarellacheese, literally one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. We had the “bangin fries” as an appetizer and they wereexcellent. For my meal I ordered the chicken parm with linguini & vodka sauce, it was absolutely delicious. The pasta tastedlike it was hand made that day and the chicken was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the Cannolis were a MAJOR hit. Probably thebest I’ve ever had! The filling is imported from Italy, and put inside the crunchiest, freshest shells. Extremely small, with an odd mix of atmosphere. There’s a pizza shop store front, then a casual dining room (very small). Not... what we expected based on the seafood menu. Food was decent, but veggies came out ice cold straight from the fridge. Overall theatmosphere killed the experience. Room was very small and quiet, making it awkward to have any sense of private conversationwithout being overheard. Wait staff was friendly but super casual (like what you’d expect from a pizza shop) and theexperience did not match the prices we paid for seafood. My first experience at Alessio's was lunch. They have an extensive menu and it was very difficult to choose what to order... because everything sounded so good! We ended up getting the hand cut Philly Cheesesteak and the Cobb Sandwich. Both sandwicheswere outstanding and unlike other Italian Restaurants, the bread they give you at the beginning of the meal was a toasted cheesybread and it was delicious. We got another Cobb Sandwich to go, and everyone loved it! We will be back very soon! Read more
