My wife and I finally came here for the first time, and I have to say it was a good experience. The gyros and Italian beef were... excellent! Pleasant people and great atmosphere, without a television playing fear mongering Fox News in the background. Wefound our new place to frequent Read more

The food is alright. The Italian Beef, specifically, was decent; however, it didn't have much taste/was bland. Also, the batter... used to fry the food has a strange aftertaste. Overall, I would say that if you like variety and decent customer service, gohere. However, the price is steep for something pretty average tasting. Read more

We ordered gyros through the drive thru and watched them slice the lamb from our car window. I have to say that those gyros... were absolutely delicious!!! It was perfectly seasoned. We should have asked for more Greek cucumber sauce but it was so good. We hope you enjoy yours if you're ever in Washington, IN. Read more

We had the Gyro combo. It is absolutely great. We just had a Gyro at a Greek restaurant in Evansville this week and it didn't... come close to comparing with what we had at the Classic. Real cucumber flavor sauce and all. One of the best we have ever had.Now if they would just add a Greek salad to the menu! And the French fries are fine also, fried just right. We will definitelybe regulars at the Classic. Read more

Dined at Washington Classics for the first time this evening. After three spoonfuls of the Lemon Rice soup I immediately... ordered a quart to go. It is just that delicious. Homemade with fresh lemons. I think I've never had such a delicate soup haveso much flavor. I had heard about the quality of the Gyros. There are so many things that can go wrong with a Gyro...meattexture/flavor, the cucumber sauce, the feta cheese and on and on. This Gyro was a savory home run...a Grand Slam...a marvelousblend of ingredients. Perhaps some of you like to finish your meal with a "perfect" last bite. Between the Lemon Rice Soup andthe Gyro I had a real dilemma in that regard. Washington Classics made an excellent first impression and I'm looking forward toanother meal there. Read more
