What a place to have coup of soup...beef vegetable one! Great selection of sweets and ciders.Beautifull view of Rock Island. Now when COVID is gone what a lively place it is with great selection of dishes and drinks! Fun for the whole family they have games outside
Recently had a vacation on Washington Island. We ate at several restaurants and this was the best. There were two soups available one was vegetarian and another was vegan. My beer cheddar soup was stellar as was my pesto, blue cheese sandwich. The menu informs you as to what is vegetarian, what is vegan, and gluten free choices. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. There is plenty of outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day. There were lawn games for the kids and for the adults. Rock Island is across the water and adds to the ambiance to the place. Sitting near the door I saw some very good looking desserts coming out. If you're on the island I would highly recommend this place. Don't miss it!
I don't usually order soups, but since it was in the name I figured it was a safe bet and man was I right. We tried the potato soup?. We also had a piece of cherry pie which was phenomenal with its' perfect crust and filling. You must stop here, even if not hungry, just to get a taste. They also have some beautiful outdoor dining views.
The folks that own and operate this place grew up in the hospitality industry, So it means something when I say that their even-temperament Goes a long way to making people feel welcome and taken-care-of. Typically have between 3 and 5 soups available on the menu, At least 4 or 5 sandwiches and a variety of specials such as quesadillas and gigantic house salads. Had the white fish chowder, quite delicious, Though I wish it had more fish versus potatoes. French onion soup is quite satisfying with a nice oniony sweetness. Reuben was great, To the point where I hope they experiment with pastrami because I think they could make a killing selling a sandwich like that. Salad was so massive my mother took it home and will probably be eating it well into this coming weekend (also, they make their own blue cheese dressing). Very low-key atmosphere, situated On the shore facing North, which means you should probably bring a coat for the wind if you eat outside. The pie was awesome, I'm a blueberry hound. Love the feel of the place and the food is very no-frills, stick to your ribs, tasty and straightforward. A must if you visit the island in the summer or fall, especially. Make sure you check their hours though.
Great place for lunch on the island. It was super busy but the staff did a great job of keeping the line moving and service was fast. The Cubano was very good. Nice setting right on the harbor. I definitely recommend stopping in.
Oh my goodness--Jackson Harbor Soup was worth the trip to Washington Island. Fresh tomato soup, pulled pork sandwich, garden salad, and carrot cake to share. Definitely worth the wait in line! And oh the carrot cake!!!
This place is a great stop on Washington Island! The lawn was nice with beautiful patio views and fun yard games. Lunch was good, soup was great.
We missed the ferry decided to peak in and got a cookie it was a little early for lunch but it smelled amazing in there! The minute we got back from rock island we grabbed lunch. I had the Manhattan Chowder and man was it amazing! The double decker grilled cheese was fabulous! Worth the stop!
