Since the COVID-19 pandemic began I had stayed clear of dining out. Over the summer as restrictions have eased up I've tried a... few new places. Today I stopped in at Aunt Gerries. Let's start with the Jerk Chicken. VERY GOOD. It came with a mix ofwhat I call 'bar sized' chicken wings and legs. Perfectly seasoned, moist with a little crispness to the skin. The Mac &Cheese was homemade and top-notch. I opted for some rice and beans as a second side dish. It was also very good. Parking is achallenge. But worth it for an excellent lunch. I moved to New England from the deep south, and one of the things that I miss most the food. I stopped by Aunt Gerrie's Kitchen... just to check out what they had, and let me tell you: this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time! I had the friedcatfish, mac-and-cheese, and collard greens. It was great! I didn't even need any additional seasoning / sauces for thecatfish -- it was so flavorful and juicy. We were driving to Home Depot, and we saw ?Aunt Gerrie?s Kitchen.? So we decided on the way back we?ll try it. BIG MISTAKE. From... the inexperienced young woman at the front counter/register, who has no Customer Service Skills to save her life. She was moreinto her Cell Phone than interacting with us. We asked her about the Restaurant?s history. Are they new, did they just open? She gave a one word response. No! Smh! So we then dared to ask. How long have you been open. She said December, & now justknow, this was April 2021 that we asked, again smh! Now regardless of all of that we ordered the food. To our surprise we weretold it will be 30 minutes. Now that wasn?t too bad. Because the way we looked at it was, our food will be fresh. Not heatedunder some food heat lamps. We ordered the Fried Chicken Wings, Collard Greens, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Fried Shrimp, Mac nCheese, & Rice and Beans. A lil over $30. The worse food ever. How can someone mess Shrimp up. 1st time here, and I DEFINITELY will be back. I ordered a side of the Mac n cheese @$6 and a side of the kale and cabbage @$5. I... had to order through an app, and said my order would be ready in 55 minutes, so plan ahead! (This was at 11 AM when they openedfor the day). I was so surprised when I opened the cabbage and kale. The presentation was good. It was nice to see such acolorful dish. And the taste was sweet!
