Waterton's best kept secret! The place is huge and as a result, there is next to no waiting. Some places on the main drag can... have a bit of a wait, but not Vimy's. Staff was incredibly friendly. Food was amazing (I had a tofu stir fry, partner had abison burger. Both were great. Incredibly fresh.) The restaurant also had AC and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating - whichwas awesome after a day of hiking in sun. Music was not too loud and speaker system was really well set up. After a day ofhiking, we were starving and able to enjoy a nice quiet dinner (but not too fancy as we were in our hiking gear) while viewingthe sun setting over the mountains. It was one of those places where you could tell the management cared about the staff, andall of the other small details. They got everything right! The only "issue" is that despite the size, this place is a bit hardto find, and we didn't even know it was there - we sort of stumbled upon it one day :-) One suggestion for the management wouldbe to set up some kind of sign on Windflower Ave, which seems to be the road that most people take t get into the main drag ofWaterton. I have worked in the industry for 6 years, I rarely tip below 20% but today we gave a 0% Came by yesterday and noticed a dead... fly on the part of my pickle that was sticking out of my burger. Would have loved to just get a replacement but the serverdidn?t come around for about 25 minutes and everyone else at my table had been well over finished by the time he came by tocheck. Came in today because we were assured it was a great place and it must have just been an off day. Nope, got the worstservice I have ever gotten in my life. Waited almost an hour for our food, which was okay but nothing great. My boyfriendcounted 8 times she walked by our table while we had empty glasses without even acknowledging us. We would have understood if itwas busy, but it wasn?t for the majority of our stay. We went FORTY MINUTES without anyone stopping by our table. We LOVED mostof the places we tried in Waterton, there was a bunch of amazing options, please go ANYWHERE ELSE but this place. Completelyruined the last night of an otherwise great trip. Read more

As much as I want to give it a 5 star. It does not deserve it except for the server who was doing great at her job. I gave 2... star because we waited for an hour for our meal to arrive. A group of people came after us and a family. This group of peopleorder burger and fries only to be served ahead of us (i understand is a burger and fries and easy to make but an hour to makeit?). A family also waited for a hour and 10-15 mins after our meal were served. We ordered ribs with mashed potatoes, chickenwith rice and veggies, poutine and a combo of soup of the day and a salad. Ribs were tasty but mashed potatoes where nothomemade it more like pre made or from a commercialized package (it was dry and had a sour flavor to it. I would have understandif it had sour cream or onion in it to give that a taste but it was very awful and flavor feels off. It feels expired or tastelike rotten milk the after taste.) Soup of the day was salmon chowder very good and very fresh. Flavorful. I will recommendthis dish. The server was good. But the hopefully kitchen needs some improvements.
