We definitely came because of the name and I've personally met Big Al on a couple of occasions. Great guy and he treated his... staff with the most ultimate respect. I've been to McKinney Ave Tavern couple of times so I might expected more. If you orderwings, I recommend you ask for fried hard or they will come out gummy. Heavily seasoned after cooked. Fries and fried pickleswere great. Appetizers good, main entrées lacking a new cook. The drinks were typical priced but was not expecting my tallglass (not glass, plastic) to be smaller than my glass of water. Friendly staff. Won't be back. Read more

Came because of the name but wasn?t impressed at all. Plastic cups for drinks and several things on menu were not available. I... get supply issues but had to try three times to pick my lunch. I guess I expected a broader menu and more beer on tap. Just apub with a few beers on draft and spirit offerings. Lots of TVs for sports, which is cool. Had the fried chicken sand and housemade chips. Very solid chicken sandwich and chips were very good, although could have been cooked longer so crispier. Notimpressive enough to bring me back. Stopped for brunch today and was not very impressed with the food. Service was friendly and attentive but food definitely was... not worth what we paid. Biscuits and gravy, they were shelf stable biscuits warmed up and grave was plain. They only added asplash of the gravy on each biscuit.. Eggs, dry and tasted like the scrambled eggs I had when I served in theArmy. Hashbrowns, were soggy and not even cooked consistently through. Was informed this was a good placed to grab a bite butI highly recommend the owner finds a new cook or entire cooking staff. Also recommend buying better ingredients, food productsand not cut corners with such high prices already in place. Waffle house is better right now. Read more

We were going to another place in Waxahachie but it wasn't available. Our friends, who were in Waxahachie 30 minutes before us,... scoped out the square and decided on Big Al's. When I came in, my eyes took a while to adjust so I missed the photos on thewall. As we sat down, our friends said it was Al from the radio's restaurant. I looked at the menu and his caricature let meknow it was my friend of over 30 years. (I even drove for him when he owned First Impressions.) I am so happy have had Big Al'sBalls. Tasty! Read more

Came in on a Friday evening with a 16 person group. They were prepared, happy to see us, and took care of our every need with a... smile. The food was great, prepared well, and it all came out at the same time so we were able to really eat together. Thestaff were very professional and anticipated all of our wants and needs. You have to try the BIG soft pretzels! Also Big Al'sBalls are good too! Very nice location with indoor, outdoor seating and music/entertainment venue space. Located on thehistoric square in downtown Waxahachie, come check this place out. Read more
