Ordered 2 pizzas. One was light and tasteless and the other Looked nice and well done but when I took a bite it was limp,... rubbery, tasteless and the crust was rock hard. It must have been reheated at least twice. And given to me as a " fresh" pie.Garlic knots weren't good either. Very disappointed. Never going again. Read more
Hot as hell in there. Went there for lunch two times in two weeks, could not eat there. No AC in the place. Tried their pizza a... few times. A lot of oil from the cheese they use is on top of the pie. Not happy with the taste of the pizza either. Read more
When do they close? Closing time is advertised as 9pm but I walked in tonight at 8:46pm and the girl behind the counter looked... up from adding up receipts and told me they were closed. It was well before 9pm and I could see they still had plenty of slicesbehind the glass. I'm not one to argue so I walked away and grabbed a slice elsewhere. Read more
The sauce they use, tastes a bit 'tinny'. In the beginning, the food was DELISH, but now - it's mostly about profits. The one... thing that Cafe' Gio seems to excel at is their seafood dishes. Everything tastes FRESH! As if it had just been brought it backfrom the fishing boat - and that makes all the difference. As a snobby seafood connoiseur and cook, I know that fresh seafoodis not supposed to either smell or taste 'fishy". When the quality is goid, It has its own distinct taste that you KNOW it isseafood but at the same time, it has a mild, unique and lovely taste that dies not overwhelm either the environment or yoursenses in a negative way. That being said...Cafe' Gio makes the most heavenly Cannolis this side of the Rio Grand! Even betterthan most Italian Bakeries!!???? Cafe' Gio's delivery service is not all that great - they tend to 'forget' items or mix it upwith another order, and the use aluminum containers which are not heavy duty enough for Italian food, and the sauces leak outinto box. For the prices Cafe' Gio charges and sometimes rude, awful service to customers, they should be using plasticcontainers like the Asian fusion restaurant Mushroom does. Not to mention the plastic containers are reusable. With just a fewtweaks, Cafe' Gio could be a great place for an Italian Cuisine experience and not only a neighborhood favorite, but a placesought out in the public's quest to find a really great place to eat a lovely Italian meal - in the New York way of excellence.????????????
