We do absolutely love the food here. Our server Frank was totally wonderful. We were a little disappointed in the wait. An hour... wait which is totally understandable for a busy restaurant of fine dining. However we ran to do an errand and came back 20minutes before our table was supposed to come up. They had given our table up, ok...fair enough, we should've Just stood aroundfor an hour I guess. They did tell my husband we have another table for you Right now, come & I'll seat you. He said, I've gotto go get the family from the car I'll be right back. When we all got there she was nowhere to be found & no table ready. Soclearly somebody else was sat in our place!!!! We also watched several parties sit while we waited (because part of the tablesget reservations... we'd tried to make reservations but they weren't taking any more for the evening)... So this is hard tounderstand the system. Hard to not feel like those who visit more often are getting priority while you wait. Finally... Another30 minutes we got seated...after 8pm. From there the experience was wonderful. Just be prepared to deal with the complicatedseating and reservation system and know it might feel like you're getting skipped. We have ate at Portas Da Cidade several times, always a good experience. Today not so much, food is very expensive. The food was... lacking in flavor, very bland for a portuguese restaurant. The service was excellent. There was 5 of us and our bill was 190.00with tip. No alcohol was purchased. Read more
