We had a lovely lunch. Dixie Fried Salad was uniquely southern with fried cornbread croutons and fried green tomatoes. The PO... BOY was very flavourful as well. The decor and antique plates gave the place a very interesting vibe. Desserts were out ofthis world. They do make them all in house. Pricey for the area but a worthwhile experience. Read more

Tried for first time Friday approx1:30. Short wait. Short on service. The two servers were very anxious and it took too long to... get our order taken. They need more help. Food was great as my wife and I had Croissant sandwiches. One very negative: as theycleaned tables the scraps were brushed onto the floor. Not a very appetizing look and the food was left on the floor. Read more

Loved our visit yesterday! Tried to make reservations but no answer. Went at 2:00 on Saturday and were seated pretty quickly.... Ordered wine and water. Took about 10 minutes to be able to place order. My husband ordered meatloaf, collard greens, and mashedpotatoes. I ordered Texas fried chicken with cheese grits and corn bread. It took awhile, but it was absolutely delicious! Thechicken fillet was fried beautifully atop yummy cheese grits with a hot white gravy on the side as I had ordered. It came with asprig of rosemary that added incredible flavor to each bite! Corn bread was crumbly with pieces of corn and delicious creamybutter that seemed homemade. Water arrived in mason jars with lemon. Mine was a beautiful aqua colored glass. Silverware waseclectic antique. All food arrived on different china plates. Ambiance was quite antique with lace and embroidered tableclothsprotected by a plastic cover.. While there, I received a return call from when I tried to make a reservation. We had anincredible huge slice of coconut cake with cream icing that we took to go. Food was outstanding and though service was slow, weloved it and will definitely be back! Quite a lovely southern cooking experience!! Read more

Yummy peach tea served in a large mason jar with a wedge of lemon and fresh mint spring. Tasty sweet cornbread with honey butter... served before main course. My dinner was the chopped steak smothered with sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The smashedpotatoes were perfectly seasoned. Dinner companions enjoyed the meatloaf, huge Texas chicken fried steak, and collard greens. This is a comfortable, casual, but small establishment, so advanced reservations would be a good idea in my opinion. When intown I would like to dine here again. Read more
