Went to play golf with friends and also stayed over at the Marriott. Loved the Blackheath course. By far the best one for... stunning views. Read more

UPDATED after playing the Blackheath course again on September 19th. After playing the course in late March and finding it in... excellent condition, I was expecting even better conditions following a Summer of growth of the Bermuda fairways. However, after playing it yesterday, I was a bit disappointed in some of the conditions. In general the tee boxes are excellent, thefairways are tight from all the cart traffic, the bunkers vary greatly from unplayable to soft white sand, and the bent grassgreens were very beaten up (tons of ball marks) and holding on. Frankly the greenskeepers have done well to keep them vibrantduring the Summer months, but I thought by now they would be recovering. They are keeping them soft and wet, which creates alot of damaging ball marks - many left unrepaired. That said, they generally rolled well, just not near as good as in theSpring. The fairways are packed and tight from cart traffic making it tougher for players having to hit longer irons or fairwaywoods. I love the course layout. It is visually appealing and although there is a lot of water, much of it does not come intoplay. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Note 2 added photos: #8 Par 3, and #17 Par 4 - a greathole! ******************* We played the Black Heath course on March 22nd. Despite 12 holes with water it is very playable asthere is plenty of room to hit the ball. The greens were in great shape and played well. The green complexes had bunkers butplenty of areas for simple chip shots. The fairways were still a bit damp but well cared for and in good condition. We likedthe warm up area to be excellent. The staff was friendly and the course Marshall offered water when he came by us. All in alla 5 Star experience and a course we will play again. The photos show #12 a par 3 and #18 which features an island green. Keepit right off the tee and you'll have an easy approach! Read more

Well over priced for a mediocre golf course at best. Williamsburg National is in much better shape. The greens on the Blackheath... course are appalling and in horrible shape. Ball marks all over them like there was just a storm of golf ball sized hail! If Iwasn't an owner and played it for free, I would be furious! Read more

4.5 stars. Very spacious rooms that are well kept. Fun architecture and fantastic decor. Good pool. Hot tub was cold however... and they seem to be under-staffed overall. Some guests were loud and blaring music?may have come from the residence side. Price is fair. I would stay again. Read more

We loved working with Ford Colony Country Club's Director of Private Events Kristin Collins through the wedding day planning... process. She was very responsive, flexible and helped us navigate through any issue that stymied our planning. We are extremelygrateful and thankful to her and her team to make our wedding venue and wedding forever memorable for us and our guests. Ourwedding was a huge success in part due to Ford's execellent team and we are so elated that we chose Ford's Colony Country Clubas our wedding venue. The Garden Pavillion is absolutely breathtaking during evening and is a perfect venue for cocktail partiesand receptions! Our guests loved the bar setup and seating arrangement on the dock outside the Garden Pavillion. The appetizersthat were served prior to our wedding ceremony were loved and appreciated by our guests. Country Club's dining hall was chosenfor our wedding ceremony and we couldn't have been happier with the ceremony's venue. Plenty of light in the hall. We highlyrecommend this venue for any couple who's looking into getting a wedding of their dreams! Staff is very responsive, helpful andprofessional! Read more
