We had a wonderful meal at the Saffron Grill - from appetizers to dessert - everyone loved the dishes they chose. The flavors... and presentation of each dish was top notch. How does one not love this place?? The food is simply amazing. The scallops (appetizer) are probably the best in Williamsport. I... am not sure how the chefs are able to do what they do - but I am thrilled that they can! The entrees are outstanding as well!! Iknow of no other place in Lycoming county where you can get a whole fish. The food is flavored with amazing spices which to nothide the taste of the food - but rather accents the dish in a way that no other local place can do. If you have not been there -go!!!! Read more

The food is good, however the service is mediocre at best. I contemplated whether or not to leave a review, thinking I may have... just caught them on a bad night, but after seeing other recent reviews with similar experiences, it seems my experience istypical. Wife and I celebrated our anniversary there. We were seated, and our server asked if we'd like our bottle of wineopened. She took it, and returned 15 minutes later with it, and the menus. Quite a long time to wait for a bottle to be opened,but whatever. Finally ordered, and waited over an hour for appetizers. They were good, nothing mind blowing, but good. We thenwaited another 30 minutes for our entrees. After our meals, we asked for the check. Waited 10-15min for it, then another10-15min to get the copy to sign. We were at the restaurant for almost 2.5hrs. I would understand if the place was packed, but 2servers taking care of 6 tables total (with many only having 2-3 guests), should not take so long. When I go out, I'm paying forthe experience, and unfortunately this experience was poor. Our visit to saffron grill was unlike anything else in Williamsport. If you are looking to explore and try new dishes unlike... anything around this is the place. Pay attention to the specials available that day and open your palate up to some of the bestseafood or unique dishes like, stuffed quail or octopus salad.
