This is where the locals go to eat. The menu item "Cinco" was very good. We ordered the chicken for the taco and beef for the... burrito. I liked the salsa salad bar. I will be back to try out the rest of the menu. It gets extremely busy during lunch hour. Read more
Overall this location is not very attractive or easily seen, however there is two access points to the parking lot.... One off of Kerry and the other I'd off of south college. There are two other locations across wilmington. NC. The OTHERlocation off of Sigmon and market, near the midtown Walmart is better aesthetically. The food here is very flavorful andauthentic. I would say it's one of the best Hispanic lunch/dinner spots on town. I do prefer LA Costa Mexican restaurantsbut flavor wise TAQUERIA LOS PORTALES is number one in my book. Also cost wise. It is hard to find authentic Mexican food this far from Mexico but I think this is an easy exception to that rule. There is... seating, but I chose to take out. Small language barrier perhaps but definitely worth the culture shock. The food is above andbeyond your average taco spot.
