Delicious way to start the day! Stopped by the basics for breakfast one morning and good lord! I started with the Benedict and... the sweet potato coffee cake for breakfast. Y'all, you absolutely need to try the sweet potato coffee cake. I promise you willfall in love. I let everyone at the table try a bite and they regretted not ordered this tasty treat. Service was wonderful,the waitress was extremely attentive and had everyone out quickly. Excellent service and food, I highly recommend! Read more
The name says it all. The basics has exceptionally executed the brunch basics. Oatmeal pancake is Deceptively good. Everything... was just a touch better. The presentation was simple comfort. But the food hit every sense with subtle aggression. I have tocome back here. Not an option for brunch in Wilmington. Read more
Went on a Monday evening, so not crowded. Ordered the chicken parm tenders appetizer, which were delicious. Our entrees were... Shrimp and grits with a tasty green tomato and bacon sauce; and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes withan awesome pickled onion relish. The prices are very reasonable, the staff are outstanding, the decor is funky (see pics), andyou better come with a big appetite or somewhere to stash your to go container where no one will steal it from you! This is my second day eating brunch here and can I say it gets better every time! The customer service is top notch and Kendall... helped me both days with my big order for my family and she was very professional and sold me on everything I asked about.Don’t go left to another breakfast spot when you can go turn right to The Basics!!!! I love how the whole team seems sofriendly sitting at the bar area to watch how the staff flows in the kitchen is just awesome!
