I Had the Breakfast Skillet very tasty, and if you like it hot they have habanero sauce but no Frank's. Now the bottomless... Coffee is $5 but completely worth every penny. It's rich, smooth & puts even the best Timmys coffee to shame they have 18% creamwhich is how they achieve that smooth creamy taste! Grill 55 has immense potential but seems to be struggling through growing pains that lead to an inconsistent experience. What is... consistent is the incredible waitstaff, who go out of their way to accommodate and inform patrons of what's going on at therestaurant. Their cocktail makers, in particular, do an amazing job even if they are missing some key ingredients. The food isalways well made, clearly put together with care and purpose. The wings, in particular, are phenomenal. However it's apparentthat sometimes the staff lose sight of the purpose of a dish. For instance I received a BLT wrap that was, by volume, about 70%lettuce and ordered a salad that was missing three key ingredients. But in contrast their wings are amazing and the desserts areexcellent. The steak sandwich was immaculate. Those on the road will deeply appreciate Grill 55, while locals may find itsoccasional inconsistency not worth their time. Decided to stay at the hotel tonight and just eat here. Had the French onion soup. It was ok..not the worst I've had but also... not the best. The pub chips were good. Fresh and hot. My husband had wings, but had to send them back. It took a long time forthe food to come and the wings were very overcooked and dry. He had one bite and couldn't eat anymore. It was a littlediscouraging hearing the staff talk to the chef and say they would never eat his food. Open late on Saturday night which was great for getting dinner after a long day's drive. Chef and bartender were both very... accommodating and put things together so we could have what we wanted. Two stars for the staff and it was clean and had a nice ambiance. Our large family attempted to reserve a space as we were... traveling to the area for the funeral of our grandmother. The manager (owner?) assured us that they could accommodate us andsaid they have a private room reserved for us and offered us buffet or ordering off the menu which we thought was great. When wearrived to the room they had set up chafing dishes inside the room with what appeared to be chicken parmesan with rigatoni intomato sauce and a garden salad with italian dressing and water to drink. We figured we were in the wrong room since we hadnever discussed anything like this with the manager. It turns out the manager just decided to put this food out for us andcharge us $22 a person for it. Many in our group would not be able to each the food due to food restrictions not to mention itall looked awful and was likely precooked at a another time and reheated and the chicken was clearly previously frozen patties.We asked to just order from the menu and the staff said there was no way they could accommodate such a large group as they hadonly one bartender/waitress for our entire group and limited kitchen staff. It really seemed like the manager was trying to ripus off or take advantage of us. All 30 of us opted to leave and eat elsewhere. Luckily Applebys was able to accommodate us lastminute and our large extended family gathering would have been ruined if not for that. Read more
