Love the sushi burritos! Decided to try something a little different last time and got my Jumping Shrimp as a bowl - holy $#*! it was amazing!! Thank you guy behind the counter for suggesting it ??
Picked up two items from here when I stumbled over this restaurant on my stroll. K-pop bowl with beef is super satisfying in the portion and variety of veggies. It?s a variation of bibimbap. Second item ordered is the King St. Chicken burrito. Lots of things rolled up in a seaweed sheet along with crispy chicken strips. I took bites off both before taking evidence so, meaning they are approved by me. And there?s a 10% discount when showing student ID.
K-pop rice bowl is pretty great. I asked for the egg over easy, and they overcooked it a bit, but on subsequent visits I asked them not to overcook it and they did a good job. The burritos are also good. They?re like gigantic sushi rolls, basically. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Don?t change, Chosabi!
It's neither here nor there. The ramen I ordered was pretty good, but nothing to write home about, the braised pork in it was delicious. The precut sashimi was mediocre at best. I think it's still the only place to get a sushi burrito in the city. (I could be wrong)
I had a tonkotsu, pork broth, ramen which was too salty and I couldn't even finish. My buddy had chicken thai curry with brown rice which looked amazing but it was also too salty.. Maybe their sushi is good and that's the reason why this place is popular... Our foods weren't good.
The staff was friendly, answered all my questions about meals and their ingredients and offered me try the sauce as I don?t like spicy. Jumping shrimp burrito that I ordered was fresh and very tasty. You getting more food for the sake price if compare to a regular size sushi. I?d like it to be served with a plate (not just on a tray), but I guess that?s their way to reduce cost (dirty dishes=labour) and it?s more like a self served cafe.
Prices are pretty steep for the portions you're getting. (About $12 for a Sushi Burrito, before taxes) However, ingredients are fresh and delicious. Space gets pretty loud around peak hours and line ups can get pretty long. Moderate wait time (about 7 mins to get an order)
Another great Asian fusion restaurant within the city!! The atmosphere is great for chatting with friends/family/co-workers with their open concept and seating. They serve sushi burritos that will leave you wanting seconds (jumping shrimp is my fav!!). They recently added dessert and a taro latte which has yet to be tried. It can be a little pricey but definitely give this place a try.
Our customers at Chosabi have come to expect some of the best asian food in Winnipeg. Drop on by or give us a call at (204) 615-8338 to make a reservation. Locate our seafood and you'll be delighted that you did. We're just down the street.
