Had high expectations for this place. Very cool old and retro steak house in Winnipeg. My experience was three stars and here is why. 1. I?m a business man and travel extensively for work and always ask my client to recommend a good steak house 2. Arrived early and was seated and the staff was very nice 3. Ordered an old fashioned to start, and it was terrible, all bitters and no sugar cube, could not drink it - they need to train the bartender 4. Ordered a bottle of wine, good selection and good prices 5. Beef barley soup had almost no beef or barley in it - disappointed 6. Ordered a filet mignon and baby carrots - steak was ok, but did not arrive hot, it was cooked ok but had sat out - the carrots were disgusting and cold - actually cold 7. Créme Brûlée was ok $250 for 2 people - would have had a much better meal at Earls Long and short, it?s sad to see management destroy a great location - if the owners see this, stop catering to the boomers and focus on what others want and you could make this an incredible location and experience.

A throwback to the 1950s. Martinis and Old Fashions cocktails to start. Decor of dark panelling and super comfy red vinyl chairs. Best steak I have had in a long time. You have to try the garlic mashed potatoes. Really friendly efficient service at the same time we were not rushed. Very enjoyable evening.

Finally went here last Monday for the first time and it was pretty lousy in more ways than one. Was pretty disappointed as I remember growing up my grandparents always talking about this place as being really good. First off my friend and I waited almost an hour to order, the server never bothered to check up on us after we got our drinks. I made eye contact with her and nodded at one point and she just kept on walking. Eventually I called her over which seemed unnecessary especially since it was pretty dead (typically your waiter comes and checks on you multiple times, especially at steakhouses that charge this much). So that was kind of annoying but certainly not a deal breaker. Then the food, my god, for the prices they charge... the bread we got was cold and mediocre. I ordered steak and mashed potatoes with green beans and the mashed potatoes were essentially just plain steamed potatoes that were smashed up, no flavor no seasoning. I took 3 cubes of butter from the cold bread basket and mixed in with the potatoes and added salt to get them to taste like something. Same thing with the green beans: they were plain steamed green beans, no butter, no salt, just plain. Steak was pretty good though, seasoned and cooked nicely. All in all I was pretty disappointed we didn't just go to the Keg. I think the bill came to about $130.

Great place for steak and prime rib. The service was excellent as well. Small booths, was a little squished.

One of the best if not the best dining experiences in the city. The atmosphere is classic with modern touches. The service is very attentive and friendly. The food is the main attraction with prim rib at the top of my list. If you haven't been go. Do a lunch if you want to start small, lunch prices are fantastic and food is prepared in a timely manner if you need to get back to work quickly.

We had a lovely night out at Rae & Jerry's. We were warmly greeted and welcomed into the comfortable and relaxing dining room. The wait staff are very good at their job. They were there when we needed something but were not hanging on our shoulders. The food was fantastic steaks done to perfection. The full meal rather than al a carte is a very nice difference from most steak houses. We had the rib steak and the striploin. The onion rings and garlic toast additions made the meal even better. We would fully recommend Rae & Jerry's to any steak lover!

Excellent food and very good service. Very good drinks also. My Prime Rib was excellent. Would have liked a little hotter horseradish but it was fine.
