The Oxbow Natural Wine Bar & Restaurant

My partner and I went to Oxbow a few weeks ago for date night and we were underwhelmed. Looking at the prices and reviews before going, we were expecting the food to be quite good. Unfortunately, the food was nothing more than average which left us feeling disappointed considering what we paid for it. We order 5 dishes and rather than spending more money on a sixth dish (we were still hungry) we just paid the bill and grabbed a snack somewhere else. They have done a great job with the ambiance inside the restaurant and the service was good, but the food fell flat.

Best food in Winnipeg! Kind and knowledgeable staff, with a great selection of natural wines. A gem tucked in South Osbourne. Need to visit 3 or 4 times to work your way through the menu.

Honestly this restaurant hands down has the best service I have ever received. Went there for my birthday, they made me a personalized menu that listed all the plates that could meet my dietary needs. The vibes are warm wood cozy and modern and the servers there are both knowledgeable and professional while maintaining a very relaxed, friendly and low key vibe. Highly recommend this spot!

Oxbow has such a great atmosphere and amazing food and wine parings! I especially like the ?off-the-beaten- track? wines to enjoy! A great spot for date night or a fun night with friends!

Went for a friend's going away dinner. Service was very good. Food was even better (no shade to the server). Drinks were good. Ambience was nice, dim lighting and a woman's and gender neutral washroom. Lots of wine to choose from, but also other cocktails. Bills were accurate but as all these places, you get what you pay for. The gnocchi was unbelievably good ($24). Beets amazing. There were zero complaints on the food. Server was very friendly and accurate. Would definitely return. What would give it 5 stars? A slight more attention and a little faster food service,  but again, not saying it was bad at all. We were very convinced to hang out and take our time.

I've yet to give this place a thorough review. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Great atmosphere, good food. Somewhere you go if you're not watching your wallet or credit card balance! The servers were very attentive and I loved the wine and virgin Five Spice Cocktail they offered. I'll visit again someday with more friends. Shame I didn't take photos!

Great atmosphere. Small yet varied, delicious menu. Server very knowledgeable about menu and dietary needs. As well as wine. Aside from our main server 2 other people interacted with our table, which to me means that staff in the restaurant are interested in the needs of the diners and are a team. Was a welcome experience as this was our first dinner out since October 2020!

So many good things to say! Our waiter was so nice and polite and knew the menu inside and out down to the ingredients and recipes of the sauces. The schnitzel was as good as in Austria, the pretzel and the triple cooked fries were stand outs for sure. Loved the natural wine selection and enjoyed a half price bottle on sunday evening wine night ?. Highly recommend!
