Amazing steak! I ordered rare and I got rare. The marbling was amazingly tender and juicy which is difficult for me to get at... restaurants when ordering rare steak. The sautéed spinach was piping hot and delicious and asparagus was flavorful. The tavernwas extremely busy, but I sat in the bar area and was served very quickly and my food arrived in no time. This is my 2nd village tavern I been to. I like this one better than the greensboro one. The Alfredo and Hot crab dip is outta... this world. 10/10 going back. ONLY critique is the sauce was a bit too thin for my preference, but flavor, presentation,portion, and quality are great. Read more
J. Peddle was our server this evening and we had an amazing experience as first time customers. I brought my wife and our friend... from Galax, VA To try this restaurant out. We were given a gift card at our wedding to come here and it was amazing. Peddleprovided excellent customer service. The food came out fast, fresh and was garnished very well. I grew up in Winston and first ate at Village Tavern like 20+ years ago. Solid restaurant for relatively upscale casual American... fare. I ordered the Blackened Salmon Sandwich (not picture- I ate it too fast ????). It was very good! However, the asparaguswas just abysmal. It felt like a giant ?f*ck you? to have someone send these out for a fellow human to enjoy! Y?all did medirty! Lol. Listen, I worked in F&B forever, I understand the struggle, especially with to go/delivery. But these weredestroyed beyond any measure of being edible. Just doing my due diligence to hold folks accountable, I think it helpsrestaurants be better if they know what happening from a customer perspective. That?s why I still gave 4 stars!
