This place is a gem! The cuisine is Spanish with some Mexican and Mediterranean influence. The prices are awesome, the fish is... fresh and well cooked and there are interesting flavors. Really can’t understand why they aren’t booked up every night!Recommend the plantain shrimp. Pictured the branzino which came with potatoes au gratin, baked tomato/pepper/garlic olive oilsalad, roasted veggie medley and sprouts. All so good! Read more
I was expecting the restaurant to be more crowded in a Sunday afternoon, but it was a good thing that it wasn't. There was only... one waitress there, plus others helping cleaning up the tables. All of them did a great job! The waitress was energetic andquickly sat us down. Being a party of four, we were seated on some table that were put together right across the front door. Ihave to say that the interior is quite dark. Not the best lighting, plus having red and black painted walls and deco doesn'thelp. After we ordered, it didn't take long fir our food to arrive, even though the Paella was said to take around 35 minutes tomake. My wife said that it was good. I'm not a seafood lover, so I didn't taste it. I had the Short Ribs, which were very good.For our two kids, we ordered the Parrillada for Two (tasteful). We also had the Ham Croquettes (good) and for the first timesome Patatas Bravas (expected more flavor and spiciness). I've have been here a few times and I have never had a bad dish!! Everything I've tried from this restaurant is delicious and... leaves me wanting more just because the flavors are so good! The restaurant always looks clean and well cared for and theservice is exceptional! I highly recommend this restaurant, and I look forward to my next visit. Read more
The service was nice, but they did ask us if we had a reservation after we entered while the restaurant was basically empty.... Luckily we arrived at the tail end of happy hour so we could order a few tapas prior to our main courses. After having a fewbites of the tapas we knew it would be best to not have any main entrees. The tapas all tasted like they had been reheated in amicrowave. The margarita, which they pride themselves in tasted like it was all sour mix, and the beer tasted like it was pouredthrough a dirty tap. Food was ok. They promote a happy hour with $3 off all margaritas but then they don’t honor it. When your bill comes the... manager will tell you what’s included but she doesn’t tell it when she drops off the happy hour menu. Good food, if a bit pricey. The ambiance can be noisy on a weekend night, especially if they have live musicians in. The... variety of the tapas plates is the best thing about Solun. They have a wide selection of cold and hot plates, with cheeses,meats, sea food, etc. Someone for everyone! Free parking lot. Read more
They promote a happy hour with 50% off margaritas but when your bill comes, the waiter said your margarita wasn’t included but... he doesn’t tell it when you order it. I didn’t like food, ceviche had a ton of onions and lettuce, but nearly any fish. Ireceived my cold and hot tapas at the same time, which unusual- other restaurants always ask when you want it. The service wasok, the waiter was polite, but didn’t give enough care and attention. I won’t be back. The quality of food doesn’t worsethe money. Read more
