After being away from my significant other for 2 months, he wanted to celebrate our get together with a nice steak dinner,... somewhere local. We had dined at this restaurant once before, more than 10 years ago, and could only recall us having noproblems so we decided to return to the restaurant. Before going, we called ahead just to be sure that the wait wouldn't be toolong. Being that it was a rainy Tuesday night, we were informed that there was no wait. When we arrived, the first thing Inoticed was a printed "Dress Code Policy" standing on the host's podium. I had a chance to quickly read through it and nextthing I knew, we were following the hostess to the table. As we were walking, I whispered to my partner, "they have a dresscode" and just as I finished whispering, the hostess turned to me and TOLD, not asked, but told me to remove my hat. I was alittle offended, but I obliged. Like mentioned earlier, it was a rainy Tuesday night so the place did not look busy at all. There was 2 large parties of five and six guests and 2 tables of a couple. As we walked past the table of a large party, Inoticed one of the guest wearing athletic wear; something that was addressed in their Dress Code policy. We were seated at ourtable and as I looked back, one of the couple was wearing a hoodie; another article of clothing that went against their policy.AND THEN when we were being served water, the server/busboy was wearing a cap!!! I couldn't help but think that I was beingtargeted for wearing a tweed hat, not a baseball cap like he was wearing, but a hat. Please do better. As far as the food goes,it was good. The kitchen did their thing. The food was flavorful, aesthetically pleasing, hot and edible. We started with acalamari appetizer and it was really good. I had the 8 oz. filet cooked medium well and was perfect for me. I had the side offries and risotto and both were really good. My partner had the skirt steak and he seemed to have enjoyed it as well. I'm going to start this off by saying -- how does this place not have more reviews?! I really like the atmosphere of this... venue. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye and it was *delicious*. I've only had that kind of flavor at one other steakhouse, my mouthstarted to water after my first bite. Amazing. Although I don't drink, apparently this place has won some unique awards(pictured), which is kind of cool. The lobster mac and cheese is... expensive ($39), but after eating it the next day, I cantell why. I've never tasted lobster that fresh in a side. It was amazing. Also, what put this place over the top to me was thelittle, very pretty flowers that they put on to garnish the plate. They look so beautiful and it was very unique and a nicetouch. The negatives are few and far between, and I'm only removing one star: They seem to use some sort of Eco-friendly takehome packaging. It does not hold up well with the mac and cheese and when removing the mac and cheese, I had little pieces ofpaper mixed with some of the mac, forcing me to throw away a few bites of it. Not the end of the world, but a littledisappointing. On our check, we had a line item that stated "FIRE TABLE", which makes me curious what that means. I have noidea if that was the result of the person I was with asking for substitutions or not. I couldn't find anything about thisnomenclature after a quick search. The last thing is, I added a tip on the check and left cash. They took the cash but didn'tcharge my card. So I hope Lucila gets the rest of the tip we set aside for her :) All and all, this place is awesome, and Ilook forward to coming back. You won't regret coming here -- FIRE TABLE, or not ??????????? The food came out fast and tasted really good. I liked that several servers were checking on me, so I didn't have to worry about... my server getting busy or forgetting about me. It was a Friday night and it looked like it was 50% full, so It seemed like theservice was good compared to what I had read in other reviews. I ordered the "Frank's Famous Sangria" and it was good. TheOctopus was great and the Scallops with the risotto were tasty as well. I finished it out with a nicely presented Crèmebrûlée. I would eat here again. Read more
