Update: Nothing has changed. Ordered online, arrived to pick it up order, and told that they haven't started on my order due to... the online order company not calling them. They also said it's not their fault even though it's how you place an online orderthrough their website. I will no longer come here. Ever. The first experience was amazing. We ordered the Jalea de Pescado yMariscos and was delighted with an assortment of flavorful fried seafood. Their salsa criolla was a perfect topping as it wasfull of complimentary flavor. Service was slow but attentive. I could not tell you what else we ordered either because it wasovershadowed by the seafood or it was simply forgettable. Our second visit was all about the service, or lack there of. Wewaited 15 minutes to be seated, in a pretty empty establishment, all while being noticed but ignored. We waited 15 additionalunacknowledged minutes after being seated. We departed after a new set of customers arrived, ordered drinks, received saiddrinks, and placed their dinner orders. They were seated directly across from us. The third visit, about a year or so later,still dreaming of that amazing Jalea de Pescado y Mariscos, was most likely our last visit. In order to avoid their horrendousservice, we placed a takeout order online. Ordering online was pretty easy but the menu lacked pictures and/or enoughdescriptions. Upon arriving I was greeted with disdain as if my presence was annoying and unwanted. I was yelled at, not spokento. After politely asking for my paid for takeout order, they rudely finished packing my items. Jalea de Pescado y Mariscos wasabismal. Salsa de criolla's flavor was overpowered by lemon. I had been here years ago, with nothing much to write home about. I remember being the only person in the restaurant and the... food was rather forgettable. Now, I can confidently say Chios has improved. For starters, the free bread stick and green saucewas absolutely incredible. I could have eaten a whole basket full of them. For the main course I went for the Lomo Saltado asit’s a staple for Peruvian cuisine and one of Chio’s most popular items. The steak was cooked excellently. The fries wereslightly softer then your average, but helped to soak in the sauce. If I were to be extremely nit-picky here, I would have likedthe tomato’s and onions to be grilled (or wok fried) longer. While the food was great, the price is a bit too much here. Withtax and tip, my item came out to $27.10 for skirt steak and fries. There are many restaurants where you can get more bang foryour buck for that price. There are cheaper items on the menu, but even so you likely won’t leave without spending upwards of$20. So that would be my main reason for not giving a 5-star. The restaurant itself is spacious and great for large parties.The service wasn’t all that friendly but it was efficient. I don’t usually kick up a fuss when it comes to that unless theyreally rub me the wrong way. Many cultures are not as hospitable as others, and language barriers can also make itdifficult. Overall if you’re looking to try Peruvian food, Chio’s is worth a shot. Just be mindful that it does not comecheap, and if friendly service matters to you then you won’t likely leave with a smile on your face. Read more
Food is good, closest authentic you can find in the valley but still much to desire. I would have given them a 4 star except... they need to work on their online ordering, as from the time we ordered to the time we walked out from the restaurant with thefood was over an hr, due to their employee stating you need to call them after you place the order online, would have help toknow but who does that ???????????
