Arrived after checking into our hotel. We were referred by "a local", so we gave it a shot. The server recommended the AMAZING... onion soup, which was cold and flavorless (other than for the cheese) The 12oz Prime Rib was another recommended disappointment.It was excessively fatty on the hidden, underneath side, and had a lot of gristle. My husband ordered the DARK MEAT friedchicken, and a salad with Ceasar dressing. She told him it would be a $0.50 upcharge because they add anchovies to their storebought dressing. We make our own, so we know about the cost of different ingredients. "OK ... " Chicken was WHITE meat, thedressing came in a little plastic side cup, and had no trace of anchovy flavor. Our bill had a charge of $2.50 for 4oz of Ceasardressing ... We were just happy to leave. Read more
Every couple of months I drive 1 1/4 hours to York, NE, to Chances R to meet friends from Geneva and Lincoln for lunch. We... picked Chances R because of its atmosphere, reputation for good food, and excellent service. There is ample parking. I pickthe fried chicken meal every time because it is awesome; but they have many other delicious menu items. For as long as I canremember, Chances R has been known far and wide for their great food. Chances R Restaurant & Lounge, located in York, NE is real deal, old school comfort food. This historic restaurant has been in... operation since the early 1930?s, and at one time was owned by Raymond & Shirley Reetz for a span of over 50 years. During myvisit, the food was excellent and service was great. I will definitely return next time I?m in town. Read more

A definite must stop! We passed through York and ate here upon the suggestion of our family. Sooo glad we did. The food was out... of this world. I had a filet mignon so tender I didn?t need a knife to cut it, my partner had the pork chops and he raved onthem. We both had their homemade blue cheese dressing?. Out of this world! We would absolutely return! We did not havereservations on a busy Saturday night, but they were kind enough to get us in. Note: there are two sides to this place?.. one ismore of a fine dining, with beautiful antique woodworking, and candle lit tables. The other more like a casual dining room.
