The food is absolutely horrible took an hour for two grilled chicken sandwiches what should hurt my son?s jaw as he chewed... them!! The cook as you would call him ? I suppose is making rounds at the table instead of cooking the food wearing kitchen meatgloves on his hands and touching stuff in the bar area and then going back and cooking the food disgusting!!!! My husband and I ate here 2 weeks ago. We started with soup. He had the cream of crab, it was rich and creamy full of crab. I... had the seafood chowder with shrimp and scallops. Very good. Then came the salad which unfortunately mostly arugula which Idon't like. Onto entrees. My husband had the seafood cioppinno, our server warned us it was a bit spicy. It was spicy but thehusband loved it. On a pasta bed was the clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops and the spicy red sauce. I had the seafood platterwhich included a crabcake, shrimp, scallops and a nice piece of fish mine came with fries . All was broiled. I have been coming to eat and drink at Big Jim's for over three years and have had a wonderful experience everytime. The cook is... so interactive and attentive to every customer and food is clearly his expertise. The food is fresh and the seafood is top ofthe line. This used to be a really great place and we would come weekly. Within 3 years the service and quality of food has gone way... down. I can't tell you the last time we had decent service here and we frequently sit around waiting for refills and at the endof night searching for the bartender/waitresses so we can pay our bill. Today the burgers were so burnt that the cheese wasbrown and the prices just continue to rise. This place holds a special place in our hearts but really starting up wonder if it'seven worth coming anymore. Read more
