I have to say this is probably more of a mediocre Mexican style restaurant that I have been to in the area. The restaurant,... inside and out, were well done and updated. What bothered me was the food and the service. For the prices, some plates that mytable had gotten were small and didn't have much flavor to them. One member of my table also didn't get part of their meal rightaway. We were also ignored a bit while the larger party (who kept ordering drinks) got anything and everything they asked forright away. My meal wasn't too bad, but the fajita part of it soaked through the taco bowl, making it almost inedible. So Iwas a bit disappointed. Food was ok. Not really authentic Mexican taste. Rice does taste like from boxed rice. I got enchiladas and comes with rice and... zucchini which is not really a way of serving enchiladas. Kids burger just meat and bread no offer of cheese or anything else.It is over priced for the quality and amount of food. Overall I would rather go to another place to get real authentic Mexicanfood. Knowing that the owners of El Jefe, a restaurant that I've dined at many times and have always had a good experience at, owned... this restaurant, I went into this with a level of expectation. I am pleased to say that Hacienda Real has exceeded thatexpectation. Immediately evident was the service, which was some of the quickest and polished service I've experienced at arestaurant in a while. The atmosphere felt exotic, and for a moment I honestly forgot I was in Yorkville. But what took the cakefor me was the food. I ordered the Molcajete, and while very spicy, it was tasty and had many layers and flavors to it. My partywas similarly enthused with their meals as well. The guacamole trio appetizer was eclectic and full of diffrent tastes, all ofwhich were delectable. Overall, I had a great experience here and will definitely be back for more. Read more
