Matt?s Big Letdown? We stopped here for breakfast during our layover in Phoenix. The lady who served us was super nice and... attentive but the food was horrendous. Bland, flavorless with runny undercooked scrambled eggs (pictured). The chicken Applesausage had hard pieces in it when I bit down and looked more like pale Oscar Meyer wieners that were chopped up and thrown inwith the liquidy eggs. Bloody Mary was bloody disgusting and didn?t have the bacon stick as described in the menu. When we wereleaving, I saw a huge line of people waiting to get in. Wish I could warn them to grab some snacks off the wall in the storebehind them. They?d be better off with that. Read more

Full disclosure - I did not eat here, my brother did while on a layover in Phoenix. He was so impressed by the quality of the... food, he asked me to post a review. He said the food was really good and "it was the best thick-cut, black pepper bacon I'veever had!" One could call him a 'fussy eater', so if he was that impressed, it must be worth a visit! Honestly, can't think of a better breakfast I've had at an airport before. Grading this based on airport food, I would give a 5... on the food itself-- I got the three egg scramble and they used actual eggs rather than whatever fluffy watered down batter theyuse elsewhere. Everything tasted great. I had to chip off a star because the staff look truly miserable, it's a real buzz kill.Assuming they're understaffed/ underpaid. I waited at the host stand for about 10 minutes (a woman in front of me said she hadgotten there 4 or 5 mins before me) in which multiple staff walked near us without acknowledging. Finally someone came over andasked if I wanted to sit at the bar, I said sure and he said ok go ahead.. basically felt like I waited for nothing. So ifyou're reading this and see an open seat at the bar, I wouldn't wait. Read more

They charge you for fries. The fries sit in a bowl under the heat lamp; I?ve sat here now for 45 min and that bowl hasn?t been... refreshed?they are cold and mushy. They try to cover this with some Trader Joe?s ?everything bagel sprinkle? thinking the rocksalt and spice will trick your brain into thinking it?s good, even tho it?s stone cold. I had to ask for fresh ones, for whatthey charge $3.50 on top of a $14 burger, I shouldn?t have to ask for fresh fries for $20+. And they have deep fryers ondisplay, but the fries come from the back room?why? Then?get this?they have their ?kitchen? on full display. They are platingon top of their stacks of dishes. Like 20 plates stacked, they are playing their food on top of all 20. All the normal kitchenstuffs spilling on all the plates below. Vegetarians beware. The place reeks of laziness and an inattentive owner. I was hereat 2:30 on a Thursday. This wasn?t a result of time of day or anything else. Place was half full (at best); pic below. They evenwarned someone who decided to not sit at the bar: ?there?s only one waiter out there at the tables??yikes. Plain and simple.Absent owners. All you need to know is the Toaster faces FOH staff. This tells you the owners have never worked the line or asservers. They expect their bar staff to toast off their breakfast breads after an order is up. Which means late, cold or neverarrived bread with breakfast. Amateur hour all around. Go elsewhere. And it?s FREEZING COLD at their bar. All downdrafts pointat edges of bar. If you couldn?t tell, this place just falls short everywhere. Read more

It's an airport stop. Seats were a bit sticky and dirty, but it was a great stop for brunch when we had a two and a half hour... layover. I had a burger, and my son had the waffle. Plenty of options for the quick stop, and a full bar for those that like totry new beers and drinks. Intried the local amber to Phoenix and it was delicious. Read more

Ordered two scrambles. One with sausage and one with bacon. They both ended up coming with sausage. Fortunately, the food was... good. I especially liked the rosemary potatoes that came with them. The sausage was tasty. Coffee was good. Read more

Grading on the airport curve here? The food is pretty good. Highlights: chicken apple sausage, waffle, and the toast.... Lowlights: homefries. Service is on the slow end, but they are working hard?just short staffed. If you need food, this is adecent option. Read more

I wanted a breakfast burrito but had to pivot because the only option came with sausage and its pre-made/frozen so there was... nothing they could do. They were out of orange juice. It took a while but I figured it be worth it and I had time. The potatoesweren't the best but they were edible with ketchup. The sandwich, however. I burned my lip on the cheese or egg. The bread wascool to the touch (and dry) so I thought a small bite would be safe but I was wrong. The bacon was tough like jerky. I likecrisp bacon, but this was grind your teeth bacon. There was no redeeming quality that would make me want to finish eating ratherthan throw $12 in the trash. I'm wondering what the five-star reviewers ate. I also probably should have tried the sit downsection, maybe it's better than the to-go? Nothing I tried gives me any confidence I'll have a better experience a second time, tho. Read more
