We got off the plane, got our car, and drove straight here! The atmosphere was wonderful and food unreal!!! The guac!!!!!!! ... We sat outside in the "winter" and it was just like a spring evening in IN. awesome!!! I have the chicken tacos and hubs hadthe steak tacos. There is a much fancier name, but I can't think of it! But so so good and filling! Highly recommend! Read more

Newbies in Scottsdale, we took a stab at this restaurant and we were extremely happy. The decor, the employees, the lap blankets... to warm outdoor diners were all great. The table-side guacamole was a delicious highlight, the street tacos were awesome, andeverything we ordered was fantastic. Definitely a solid plan for a family, a gals night out or a romantic dinner. The Mission in Old Town is a restired chapel turned into a Mexican restaurant. The setting inside is really casual but also a... perfect spot for a date. Parking outside is hot or miss since there's lots of shops around, and seating inside can go quicksince it's always busy so I recommend making reservations. The staff here are amazing, food comes out quick, portion sizes aregood for the prices but the real stars here are the appetizers. Their menu isn't too big, but I'll tell you the stars of theshow are really that sections of apps. The street corn, the guacamole that gets made fresh at the table, the duck fried rice, anticuchos and the tostadas are all you need. The swordfish is alright, and the roasted pork shoulder for 2 is a good size butthe taste just isn't enough like it's made up to be. Overall a great experience and amazing ambiance and food, would highlyrecommend. Read more

WOW. This place was phenomenal. The service was extraordinary. All of their margaritas are mixed with a different type of... tequila based on what Would go well with the flavor. The pear margarita and the Paloma margarita were amazing. I recommendingordering guacamole. You can adjust the flavor based on its spice level. They come out and make the guacamole in front of you.All of their tacos are perfection. Everything on the menu is made from scratch. They have outdoor seating with a fireplace andindoor seating. The atmosphere is very dark and seems romantic. I will continue to recommend this place to anyone who visits oldtown Scottsdale. This should be your go-to. Read more

From looking at the pictures, I thought this was going to be a very romantic, intimate place but it was the opposite. It had... very low lighting but the music was very loud. Too loud for it to be romantic. Much better for group gatherings and parties.Make reservations in advance! I ordered a specialty drink that was a margarita mixed with red wine called the missionary. Thewaitress talked to me about it and told me she liked it and I did too. My waitress was extremely attentive all night. I neverhad to ask for a refill. I also ordered the duck fried rice. It was a good portion size and had a good flavor but beware butlots of cumin. Overall I really enjoyed my food and visit! I would definitely go back with friends! Thanks for a great dinnerand experience! Read more

We had lunch here today and tried a bowl of The Mission's famous Almejas Al Vapor. Absolutely delicious! I googled it and found... a blog with what is presented as the actual recipe. I'm definitely going to try making it. Great food and friendly service here. Read more

Unexpected modern food experience in Old Town Scottsdale. Great food and crafted cocktails. The service was top notch and the... guacamole (spicy made to order) was delish. Will definitely be back! Read more
