We were very pleasantly surprised to have stumbled across this place! It’s difficult at times to find a restaurant these days... that gives you service expected during your dining experience and makes it that much better while on vacation! Though it feels pricy for Mexican, the food was so good. There is a simple black bean dip with the chips that I totally got... addicted to. Tatum, our server, was very sweet and took great care of us. I'm sad I'll not get to return until my next trip outhere. It was a lovely dinner. Read more
I've been coming to Carmelita's for 11 years. My feedback is going to come off as non-actionable and probably too blunt, but I... feel the need to say it. I'm the type of person who will choose one restaurant over another based upon how good theirchips/salsa is. My wife and I ate dinner here tonight and they've changed their salsa from red to green. It's sour, way toospicy, and in my personal opinion, absolutely gross. I won't be returning after 11 great years because of this change. I'veprovided this a 1 star, not because of the taste of the main course, or the service from the staff, but because of mydisappointment of losing a place I love to eat at. Read more
Excellent food. Excellent service. We didn’t have reservations but still got a seat in 5mins. Luck maybe but the host was... super friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. I’ve never had rice and black beans so good and the entrees were in mytop five best Mexican food ever too. Best fish taco ever, and the jalapeño pineapple margarita (forgot the name) is a musthave. Recommended by a friend and it was absolutely delicious! The crab stuffed jalapenos were perfect and surprisingly wrapped in... bacon. The green dipping sauce is spicier than expected (and I'm a spicy kind of gal so take my word for it!) But if you getsome extra sour cream, you'll be able to enjoy the spice with everything else! The churros and ice cream were a new adventurefor me. It was funny that the ice cream was what cut down on the heaviness of the whip cream, though the cream was fresh made...Nothing from a can here! The churros were the kind straight from the amusement park and the burnt caramel sauce tied everythingtogether!
