I can't give half stars but my review is more of a 3.5. We made a reservation for our Anniversary, nice place. I enjoyed the... dimmer lights, very boisterous and loud in there. I got a summer cocktail, Starwberry fizz, the seeds were a little weird to getand it was very mild in taste. We ordered appys: Fried oysters, good but the batter came off easily with good sauce. Prawn tacoswith mango salsa, good portion, had some heat and was good quality. Charcuterie board, for the price of this it was actually notgreat. I'd even recommend not getting it, basic cheeses (cheddar, Parm, mozza) 7 crunchy toasted bread slices. The preserveswere in big chunks and not very spreadable, mustard was good, we enjoyed the fruits and basic meats. You can make a bettercharcuterie at home for this price with better quality cheeses and a fresh bread from a bakery. We were really excited aboutthis but it left us wanting. Unfortunately. Our main was the seafood platter for 2, a cute crab on-top. $20 for ONE extralobster tail since the platter only comes with one. Everything was good, even if the veggies were a bit too hard still. We wouldcome back to order this! We got the cheesecake for dessert and that was also disappointing, $10 for a small slice. I wonder ifthe seasonal dessert would be bigger in portion and worth the cost, we forgot to ask what it was. The servers were friendly andkind. They do have outside seating under tents. Not very accessible bathrooms. Glass dividers at the booths but not at tables.Tip those ladies they were so busy the whole time we were there, also pls note as I said it's NOISY in here. Read more
I have been to the Bow and Stern back to back nights. The food is amazing, bothe the salmon and steak were cooked perfectly and... the steak was probably one of the best steaks I have eaten! (Forgot to take a photo until it was gone). The staff is extremelyfriendly and knowledgeable which adds to the experience. Atmosphere is very modern and kept up to date and makes for anenjoyable and relaxing evening. I will be back while on work trips in the area and sending people I know. 10/10 Read more
Oh MY GOODNESS!!! What a delicious and wonderful surprise!!! My husband brought me here as a surprise mid-day Saturday afternoon... date. Beautiful décor and ambience, the music ???? perfection. The whole ensemble is amazing! We had 30 Fanny Bay Oysters ????HAVE THEM! So good! Pro tip: horseradish, hot sauce, and cocktail sauce elevates to a whole ‘nother level! Prawn ????cocktail is wonderful Salmon ???? carpaccio is out of this world! House fries made with Kennebec potatoes ???? so yummy! Comehere, enjoy a cold beverage and indulge in the amazing food! Bow & Stern is a restaurant which offers very kind and attentive customer service. The staff are all very focused and get the... food served quickly. The food starting with dishes such as the Mac & Cheese (With Lobster) are good, but oddly it allows theseafood to speak for itself more than the main dish. Personally I feel the main feature of the dish could have spoke for itselfmore, rather than relying on the bite of the lobster but personal preferences aside I enjoyed a lot of the dishes. The seafoodalone in some dishes are done really well and my compliments go out to the chefs. Side dishes were really good, lots of flavourin their sauces and the foods were well seasoned. All-in-all the food was good and the experience is quite enjoyable, just feltsome foods were either a bit bland or dry but I need to give it another try. try it for yourself and let them prove me wrong! Great service, glass was never empty. Hard to find continuous service like that. Oyster burger and seafood linguine, terrific,... lot's of flavor and good proportions. We have been here many times and will continue to come back. Friday reservation at 5:30 isa good time as after that it's very busy. Well done Bow and Stern! Read more
Had a great dinner here this past weekend! Service was on point from the moment we sat down. Ordered calamari as an appetizer... and our server noticed they were clumped together so she immediately brought us a new one. Despite that little hiccup thecalamari tasted amazing. Had the mac and cheese with lobster and mussels with bread for mains. Mac and cheese was good butlobster was a bit overcooked and chewy, whereas the mussels were outstanding. We were too full for dessert but considered that agood thing! Great drinks and atmosphere as well. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again! Read more
Amazing stop for excellent seafood. I've been twice now. First visit we had the cold seafood platter and second visit we had the... hot seafood platter. Both were huge and delicious and had a great selection of different flavours. They both tasted amazing andseemed very fresh. There is easily enough for two hungry people. A nice restaurant. The ambience is very inviting, more for friends, partners and couples. The staff is very friendly. Good... selection of seafood, burgers and small plates to share.
