My favorite place to get sushi. Great service and food. Food presentation was a 6/10 and the taste was definitely a 9/10. They... only serve wild salmon here not farmed salmon. Miso soup doesn't have much tofu in it mostly just broth for the $3 price. Theprices are quite expensive but it's always worth it when I go there. I've never been disappointed here. Was short on cash onceand they were very kind. Often have things on the house like miso soup or edamame. Really great staff who are the perfect amount of attentive. They don't hover, but still came back to check on us at good times.... The nigiri is good and they give you fairly decent sized pieces, the special rolls are very good, filling, and they have so manyinteresting combinations to choose from. The bentos come with lots of food as well, and filled up my partner very quickly. Allthe ingredients tasted great and fresh. The interior/décor of the restaurant is cozy, and everything looked clean. I have had many good experiences with this Sushi restaurant but after what happened just now I will not be supporting them... again. I ordered the salmon/tuna combo and walked there to pick it up. When I got home and opened it up I noticed the albacoreTuna in the roll was a black blue colour, (see photos). Compare it to the Nigiri Tuna which is the typical colour of albacoretuna and you will see a vast difference. I was concerned and called the restaurant hoping they would be able to assure me it wassafe to eat and offer some type of reasonable explanation. After a short chat with a pleasant girl who could not offer anyexplanation I decided to run it back to the restaurant to exchange the tuna roll for one with tuna that was not a blueishcolour. I brought my take out box up to the cashier area where a man was standing and proceeded to open the box and show him thetuna. I was very polite and very respectful, I just wanted to show them what I was talking about. This man started to argue withme, telling me it was fine and pointing to the back of his neck, saying it was from a different part of the fish. He kept sayingits the same. Clearly it is not the same as the tuna on the nigiri. My guess is they are cutting the bloodline off the filletand using it in the Tuna combo's. He was not being very helpful or receptive at all and finally I pointed to the Nigiri andasked him, "could I get a Tuna roll with Tuna that colour int it?" He replied " NO". I was completely taken by surprise and juststood there stunned for a second. I was the only customer in the room and all of the 6 or 7 staff including the Chefs werewatching and listening. I finally spoke and said "you are joking right?" Unfortunately he wasn't joking. I then opened the boxagain to point out the huge difference in the 2 cuts and he started laughing at me.
