If I could give 0 stars I would! We have always liked this place but today the food was just plain awful!! Green beans were ice... cold , fish is raw and broccoli beef and chicken tastes spoiled, chicken was hard and dried out it was as if they were servingweek old food, we told our waitress but got no response from management.. just a 40+ dollar bill for food we literally COULD NOTEAT? the dessert cake was all we could even stomach ? definitely NOT worth the price and we will not be back!! China Star offers a variety of food dishes. The dining room is usually very clean as is the buffet area. We have visited this... establishment at least 3 times. Their tea often tastes unusual and requires us to switch drinks. Some of the food items on thebuffet are cold when they should be hot. Have also became ill after eating here on 2 different occasions. I?ve been coming to this restaurant since i was a teenager. I remember having good experiences back then. I?m not sure what... changed, but the ladies that work up front at the cashier station are rude and moody!! Borderline disrespectful depending on theday. Another time a server was aggressive to my elementary age daughter bc she didn?t know what she wanted to drink, I won?tspend a dollar there again. I?m not a complainer but this restaurant?s not what i remember. If i could could give a -5 stars iwould. I recommend buffet king. Much more variety and the worker?s are much more kind. Read more
Listen to all the bad reviews, we gave this place a shot and while the place was clean and the staff was nice, the food was... garbage. The chicken was soggy and the noodles tasteless. Things that did have flavor were not good and all of it looked old, wewent for lunch and I wouldn't be surprised if what we ate was from the previous dinner servings. China Star hasn't been good the last few times I've been there. We went last night (07.23.2022) around 6:30 pm and there weren't... very many customers, which is odd for a Friday night in Abilene. You could see that there were signs of wear and tear on thechairs and I would like to know what happened to their phone booth that they had for years and years. The food was definitelykept hot on the buffet, but the items just seemed to all taste the same as the item next to it...no uniqueness to it. Read more
Love the food it is always so good. I did the buffet take home. This time the General Tso's Chicken was not good at all! The... chicken was so over cooked I couldn't eat it! The chicken seemed like it had been left from thr day before and re-cooked, it wasso dark, stringy and no edible at all! Everything else was perfect! Wasn't great. Don't plan to go again. The food tasted like it sat there all day. No soup on the buffet. Not worth the price.
