Stopped here for lunch on a Monday while on a motorcycle trip. I ate in the bar area which was pretty empty so service was fast... and friendly. The dining room must have been busy as there were a ton of cars in the parking lot. The BBQ combo plate was great.I'd stop and eat here again. Read more

Although this is a BBQ place but they really have one of the best ribeye steak in Texas. The steak is flavorful and juicy... without putting any sauces. You order the steak by inches instead of ounces here. Really recommend order the 2'' steak and shareit with another person. My friends order 3/4' and 1 1/3' steak but mine got the perfect medium. The fried onion and okra is alsogood. Really recommend this place if you come by abilene. Read more

I went for the 1st time ever last week and the food was awful! The bread was hard, the corn was old, the steak was $30 grisly &... very tough and hard to eat (I did eat half of it) , but what topped it off for me was the baked potato was so over cooked andtasted so nasty I couldn't eat it! I will never go back! The pictures don't show you completely but it was like rubber! Read more

Awesome, no-frills BBQ. Despite the pit being nowhere in sight, the all-wood decor should feel right at home for any BBQ... restaurant veterans. The menu has all the staples (brisket, ribs, etc), and even ribeye for those wanting something a bit more. Both the turkey and sliced brisket were cooked perfectly, and came with a tangy BBQ sauce that complemented both. The okra andveggies were great sides, neither one overcooked. The potato salad was a bit unusual, being more mashed than usual, but stillflavorful. All of this great food was complemented by the terrific servers, who kept our drinks full and offered greatsuggestions. Read more

Great service, nice atmosphere. Ordered ribs, chopped brisket, and sausage. Sides of potato salad and green beans. Price was... good. Brisket and potato salad was great! The ribs were decent, but was really disappointed in the green beans and sausage. Thegreen beans came out completely plain like they were just dumped out of a can by themselves with nothing added. Even lower endrestaurants add something to season up the beans a bit. The sausage was the real disappointment, very tough and tasteless. Gavea few of my friends at the table a couple pieces without saying anything, and they just kind of stared and said "that sausage ispretty bad". According to reviews, they have amazing steak, so I should probably try that sometime, but for everything else I'llcontinue going to a different place. Read more

A very large portion of food for what you pay here. I tried the bbq combo plate with brisket, sausage, ribs, potato salad, and... cole slaw. They give you corn bread and slices of fresh bread before the meal, too. The staff was all very friendly and helpful,as well. They were pretty busy, but I still didn't have to wait long for anything. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. Read more

I am always on the lookout for good Southern home cooking. We stopped here at a coworker's suggestion on a business trip, and... I'm SO glad we did! It was a weekday at 4pm, and within minutes of being seated, the place filled up. It's always a good signwhen locals are trying to beat the dinner rush - that usually means the food brings in a crowd. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ, butthe other selections available were varied and all looked delicious. I went with the hamburger steak with new potatoes andcabbage, and it was one of the best meals I've eaten in the last few years - absolutely impeccable! The homemade breads andjalapeño cornbread were also AMAZING. I've just found my go-to dinner spot when work takes me anywhere near Abilene! Spectacular food with friendly and efficient service. Decided to try out this out of my way BBQ restaurant, man was that the best decision ever! I got the smallest ribeye and came... out of there so stuffed! Maybe one day I'll come and try the 2 inch ribeye! One of the best steaks I've ever had. I will becoming here anytime I'm in Abilene! The cornbread and bread were both fantastic!!! Great food and a great value for your $. Read more
