If you love craft beer like me, especially Stouts and Porters, they have an okay selection. Had the Southern Star Buried... Hatchet...it was smooth and very tasty. Loved the appetizer "Sarins Hevous" kicked up to Devils style.... Not hot for a hotfreak like me..but most people would think its hell fire!! Service was attentive and caring.. I will be back!! Excellent food and outstanding service, I would 100% recommend this place if you are looking for a fine dining experience. The... food is a bit on the expensive side but it is worth it if you are looking for a date night, or looking for a place to drink acold beer. They have a wide and fine collection of craft beers, wine, liquor, and even mead. Read more

Very nice place inside. I was in town after a 40 year absence, and my friend took me to this place. I was so looking forward to... chicken fried steak, and this place did not disappoint. It was delicious, with tender meat, just right breading, and perfectlythick gravy. Just awesome. The green beans they served with the meal were also seasoned just right. Plenty of other reasonablypriced menu items, and large selection of beer. If and when I ever return to Abilene, this will be one of my first stops. Read more

Came for breakfast and it was just horrible. Order breakfast and Brioche with potatoes and it was literally a BURGER! I most... definitely did not want a burger for breakfast! It also was so dry and the potatoes were just not good! I asked for a regularbreakfast bowl and got that instead. Well come check time they still charged me for the horrible breakfast that I did not eat!If they were going to charge me they could of left the plate for us to take home. Someone in my house would of ate it. I'm mostdefinitely not ever returning here for breakfast or Dinner. Read more

Taylor County Taphouse is a locally owned restaurant. We went at an off time and it was not very busy. We ordered drinks first... and they were great! Very strong but great. The Ace Pear Cider was exceptionally good. Dry, fruity and delicious. The cinnamonorange Margarita was a strange combination but very good. The Tequila Mockingbird was good. Strawberry and Tequila was prettygood. Strawberry infused tequila gave a nice finish. Our last drink was The Gambler and it was the clear favorite. Forty CreekWhiskey and Grand Marnier with toasted orange. Sooo very great citrusy and boozy. The Satan’s Huevos were excellent. Deviledeggs topped with fried crawfish and a remoulade drizzle. Very tasty and would order again. The Low Country Shrimp and Gritswasn’t very good. It had way too many onions and scallions in the grits. I love silky smooth grits and these were not at all.The second dish we had was the Bat Out Of Hell Meatloaf. Best dish hands down! Two slices of meatloaf laying upon a bed of skinon mashed potatoes. We added broccolini to the side and while salty it paired well with the meat and potatoes. Lastly was thepulled pork sandwich. Smoky juicy goodness served with steak fries. The coleslaw which was more of an afterthought. Oily andstrange. We then finished with 7 Layer Chocolate Cake and boy oh boy this was truly decadent without being too sweet or heavy.Next level great. The Bread Pudding was just okay nothing special. The staff was very good. No hovering but came around asneeded. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. Definitely comes recommended. We will be back. Read more

Nice casual place for a variety of brews and good food. My steak Diane was cooked perfectly! The only thing lacking was... customer service/atmosphere could have been better. I overheard gossiping between servers and one girl kept bumping intomultiple guests which was distracting. She actually almost bumped into me while I was leaving too. My particular server wasfriendly though. Read more

I’m on the fence on the rating and I wish there were 1/2’s because I really want to give this place a 3.5. The ambiance when... you go in is a vibe. It’s rustic, has an upscale feel, and yields bold detailing. The selection of beers, whiskey, andbourbons are high end and plentiful. The mixed drinks leave a little to be desired but I personally have a high tolerance so itcould work for others no problem. The TEXAS FRIES were absolutely delicious and loaded just right. The WINGS OF WONDER had twodifferent textures. One was regular and the other was a double crunch that was super crispy but it did lack a little flavorwhich is the reason for the rating. The presentation was great and overall I enjoyed the experience. Just wish those wings camea little bit harder. Fun fact: The waitress told me that the owner owns a farm and that’s where the product comes from and heworks both. It was nice to know that it’s a farm to table type establishment and I plan on going back and trying more ofthings. Read more
