What an excellent server! Taylor was very friendly and excellent suggestions. I had chicken fried chicken and gravy - wonderful.... My mom had the fried turkey which was remarkably delicious. We both had the fried okra - it never disappoints. The mashedpotatoes though, were beyond disappointing - dry, bland, barely edible with a cup of gravy poured over them. Stick with theokra! We often stop at Cracker Barrel when traveling so decided to stop in Abington Va. even though we had a 4 hour drive home. We... were given a wait time of 25 minutes. After about 45-50 minutes we were seated. People were seated on both sides of us. Welooked at the menus, decided what we wanted so we?d be ready and waited. The people on both sides of us already had drinks andhad ordered when our waitress showed up. We?d been at the table at least 20 minutes. We gave her our drink orders (water) andtold her we were ready to order. She then told us it would take at least 45 minutes to get any food. This would have meant ourfood would arrive 2 hours after arriving. I understand that they were probably short staffed. We should have been given a moreaccurate time or at least told that food would take a long time. Not sure why the people seated after us all had drinks and hadordered before we saw a waitress. I have ate at cracker barrel since I was a kid and this was horrible place to eat. Waited 45 min to get food and wasn't busy.... Then bacon was raw and biscuits and gravy never came. Ask waitress waited 20 minutes still didn't come. Ask for manager and shenever came. Until I was going out front door. Very poor food what we did receive. Always love cracker barrel but tonight was above and beyond. Our waitress Brittany was amazing. I was talking about not being... able to have sugar and without having to ask she brought me sugar free jelly!!! Food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious???? Clean and friendly. I arrived on a Sunday around 1 PM. They are usually very crowded. We had to wait at least 30 minutes on a table. Once we were... seated our drinks and food came fairly quickly. Our server Adrianna was friendly and kept our drinks full even without having tobe asked for a refill. I tried the southern fried chicken for the first time ever. It was 4 pieces of chicken 1 breast, 1 thigh,1 wing and 1 drumstick. It also came with 2 sides (I got mashed potatoes and fried apples) and your choice of biscuits or cornmuffins. It was very good, the chicken was done the meat tender and juicy. The outside breading was crunchy and not too hard. Attimes at other places The breading was hard enough to break a tooth but not here. The sweet tea I got to drink was sweet but nottoo sweet. If you like it a little sweeter like me one packet of pure sugar or artificial sweetener, which is already on thetable when you sit down, will do the job. Read more

Used to be my very favorite place. Prices keep going up and portions keep getting smaller. Service is terrible and wait times... are horrendous. Don't go hungry because you will be there awhile.Also, I don't like the fact that they are serving alcohol now.Not so family friendly anymore. I think they are also way to pushy when it comes to selling candy at the registers. If I want itI will buy it without it being shoved down my throat. Think they would do better with the long checkout lines with a littleless candy pushing. Read more
