Below average, to be honest. I haven't been to the Acton location in years, and I won't hurry back. It wasn't a busy night. We... ordered one salad and two entrees. The bread with oil and cheese arrived. The bread was cold, refrigerator cold. The entreescame out quickly, arriving before the salad. Nothing spectacular to report about the entrees. We ended with lukewarm coffee. Ourbill came and as I reached for my card our waitress walked away. The table behind us was served and the odor from their fishdinner was horrible! Our waitress tended to two other tables then disappeared. We waited 15 minutes or so, then walked to thefront of the restaurant to pay our bill. There was a male employee, (maybe the chef?) by the bar. I asked where I could pay. Hegrabbed the bill and said to leave it on the table. I told him I was paying with a credit card and our waitress disappeared. Shefinally returned, we paid, and left. I've had much better experiences at the Waltham and Watertown locations. Read more
For years, the Acton Not Your Average Joe's has been one of our favorite restaurants. Tonight, however, was an extreme... disappointment. The complementary bread and oil/herbs/cheese was delicious, as always, but everything else was pretty pathetic. To begin, the chowder appetizer was like a cup of paste. Thank God for the water we had to wash it down. Then, when theentrees arrived, the three meals were pretty disappointing. The mustard-crusted chicken BLT was flavorless and had one thinpiece of bacon. Only one of the two "medium rare" burgers was cooked correctly, which is odd for a meal that should have beenprepared at one time. To top it off, the french fries were cold. We could have done better at McDonald's. A woman who webelieve to be the manager came to our table to check on everything and did bring a new burger and comped the chicken sandwich. Furthermore, the men's bathroom was in shambles, dirty and with a broken toilet paper dispenser. All in all, this was a verydisappointing visit to a restaurant we've loved for over almost two decades. We will not be returning to this location everagain. I hope they can get their act together, or I am sure they will continue to lose their devoted clientele. Read more
We had the steak tips and shared them between the two of us with a side salad each. Flavor overload. I would definitely get... this dish again. We left completely satisfied and not overly full. Read more
A nice NYAJ location for when you want a low-key dinner. This location is a good size with a nice bar area, the service is... always very friendly. As with most NYAJs, most of the menu is reliable and won’t disappoint. Read more
This experience was way better than my last time going to NYAJ. The Poke bowl was fun crunchy and had a whole lot of flavors to... bring to the table. My last time going here they forgot to give me the green beans and my almonds on my Vietnamese salmon. Ihad a wonderful experience this time I will be back soon. Read more

Went for a girlfriend's B-Day early dinner. Food was great. Large portions. Lots of dishes are spicy.I Would choose another... restaurant for other friends that cannot eat spicy food. Read more
