Excellent experience. The place is cozy, well maintained, very clean. The staff were excellent as well. There are some... restaurants attached to the inn, so in cold or bad weather you don't even have to go outside. There's not much to do in Aftonitself, but the Inn is a great place to cozy up for a few days. Read more

Our honeymoon stay was wonderful! The room was beautiful and the double jacuzzi was a huge hit with me and my new hubby! Doors a... lil sticky but that is to be expected in a building so old and the current days heat and humidity. Beautiful Victorian decor.Staff was super accommodating and wonderful! Loved that we had our own walk out patio! We will definitely stay here again! Weare planning on returning for our 1 year anniversary! Thank you ,Afton House Inn for giving us a wonderful honeymoon experience! Read more

Will never use this place again, very disappointed. Specifically asked for a lower level room due to handicap and was put on the... 2nd floor and was told it couldn’t be changed.. Had to work my way upstairs while my husband carried my walker. Walk into theroom it stinks, old, outdated. Price for 2 16 oz cans of pop was ridiculous. Definitely not worth the price that was paid. Afton House of Smoke & Mirrors! Everything about our stay was disappointing. The website hypes this place up, only for you to be... smacked in the face with a harsh reality. A lopsided old bed they're trying to keep by adding a topper, a "jacuzzi" barely bigenough for one person, old (not antique) wobbly furniture- just all very outdated and off putting. Website also claims our roomhad a "River view"- more like a marina view and we couldn't even enjoy that from our room because there's a parking lot directlyunder our balcony with people constantly coming and going. Room was also very noisy due to being above their kitchen area. Ourfinal complaint is with the deceptiveness of the website in regards to the "Spa Package" we thought we were getting. Theirwebsite states it's $195 PLUS the cost of your room, which we were ok with and clicked "add". Only to find out we didn't add athing except for some words on the invoice and had to pay an additional $240 for the hour massage we received. Then there's HOWwe got the massage- the two ladies were good sports about it but we literally had to move most of the furniture in our tiny roomup onto the bed or into the bathroom for them to fit, and even then, it was a tight squeeze. When we asked Georgie about thesurprise fee we just encountered, she treated us as if we were idiots who didn't know she had a degree in suckering people. Verycondescending. Oh... and the breakfast part of this bed and breakfast... skip it! Their "omelette" is just scrambled eggs withcheese, fruit we didn't want or ask for, sausage links and toast. Had to go into the bar area and grab my own salt and pepper tochoke down what I could, and ate my toast plain as the two strawberry jams they left with us both were brown and congealed. Wewill be back to area, just never back to this Inn. Read more

We came for our anniversary. Told them about our anniversary and asked for a really nice room with king size bed. The room we... got was pretty bad. While we were there we got to see another room that was empty, that was twice the size and way way nicer andnewer and roomier and fresher and cleaner. Pretty disappointing. So we got there early and spent time and money in the swirl barand then we ate at their fine dining restaurant on site and also booked a brunch cruise through them. When booking, arriving, and during dinner, we told them it was our anniversary. Kind of disappointed that they couldn't comp is a glass of wine or thedessert or no portion of the bottle of champagne that we bought over dinner. I will say that the people working there were allvery nice and accommodating. The food was delicious as well! Read more

Took my family to Current at the Afton House Inn for Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet. Awful! Especially for $35/pp. - The “Eggs... Benedict” (yes, using quotes because it was definitely NOT Eggs Benedict.) was a piece of toast cut in quarters with superthin Canadian bacon. Instead of a poached egg, they had a tiny square of congealed (probably powdered) scrambled egg that wasabout the size of a cheese cube. Really strange! More like Ghetto Benedict! - The buffet was supposed to have salmon. They hadblue gill instead…how is that on par with salmon? - The pastries and desserts were all yucky low-quality commercially madeproduct…like the kind you get the free breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express. I don’t mind commercially made baked goods! Someare exceptional! These were not. - Everything on the buffet was always picked over and they took forever to refill the emptypans. - Our server was nice enough, but we noted that she never asked how the food was. We can see why…she knew better. -Did I mention the scrambled eggs on the buffet caught on fire, due to overfilling the sterno cans underneath? Should have beenscary, but we all laughed. it was just the perfect ending to a bad meal. Overall, an extremely lackluster experience and wewill not return. Dine at your own risk! Read more
