Although the cake LOOKED amazing, the taste was horrendous. The texture was extremely dry and the frosting was gritty. Very very... disappointed. A complete waste of money I won't be back nor will I recommend. Aesthetically pleasing but that's it. Read more
My husband and I eat gluten free and found this for breakfast while in Springfield overnight. So many amazing baked goods! I... love how homey it is but I almost feel like if may be slightly toooo casual..they mention some of that is due to COVID protocolsbeing semi lifted/semi not. By that, I mean that they follow you to the coffee spot and don't really make it clear how to getmilk. The food was delicious, and entirely too large of a portion. I love this place!!! The food is amazing! So many Gluten free delicious choices! The food is comfort food with a homemade feel!... If you?re thinking of coming here for some food, just stop thinking about it and get over here! Their food is absolutely... wonderful! This is easily the best chicken salad I?ve ever had in my life (and most of my life revolves around food lol) we alsohad some of their clam chowder and it?s definitely outstanding! We also tried the gluten free waffles and it?s just to die for.On top of that we chatted a bit with Auntie Cathie herself and she?s such a wonderful and sweet person, she even shared with mea couple of her secrets, still need to find out how she literally makes the best gluten free bread I?ve ever had in my life: getover here and enjoy her superior food ASAP!!! When I found out I had celiac disease a couple months before my wedding, Cathie saved the day by making my wedding cake and... catering brunch on my wedding day. We had a lot of compliments on the cake and many people didn't even realize it was glutenfree! And brunch was amazing! The sandwiches were perfect, the quiche was great, the pastries were awesome, everyone loved it!My bridal party was a little skeptical when I told them all the food that morning would be gluten free, but they all enjoyed itthe day of. To address some things other reviews have mentioned... Cathie can sometimes sound a little rushed when talking toher, but that's just because they are so busy! She is a super nice person! And things are expensive there because it's adedicated gluten free/allergy friendly place. As a baker myself I have been discovering just how stinking expensive it is tomake safe, tasty, gluten free stuff. And it's really not that expensive compared to other bakeries! Actually, my wedding cakecost a tad bit less than it was going to cost at Atkins Farm, which was a nice surprise. I don't have professional pictures backyet, but I've attached a picture of the cake.
