Place was well lit, wait staff very friendly with good input on food selection. They have a veggie garden where they use their... own. Outstanding!! Food was to DIE for. Portions are good, food came out hot(which I like),they support a organization withdonations from an item on their menu. Would go back for sure. Few places in the country can rival the food at the Federal, amazing quality service, delicious food, at very steep prices, but... well worth it. No mail here should start off without their famous cup of balls and the fabulous pizza. My braised rib wasoutstanding in may just be the highlight of the entire menu, but that's somewhat subjective given that there are no bad itemsserved. I've never been disappointed on my many visits over the past 15 years. Read more
Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. We came with a large group and the staff was absolutely top notch in terms of... service and knowledge, and was very accomodating. We had a few different apps (risotto balls, zucchini sticks) and they wereexcellent. Complementary rolls were hot to the table, provided with oil and salt/pepper. I had the braised pork with fennel andorange salsa (pictured). Absolutely incredible. The place was PACKED on a Wednesday night of no consequence, so I would assumeFriday/Sat nights are reservation territory. Wine list is extensive, high end, and the beer list was very adequate. I can'twait to go back and try something else. Be prepared to spend, as most entrees are in the 40/pp range but I cannot stress howincredible the food was. 6 stars if I could. Read more

Simply superb. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here this evening. We could not have been any happier with the superior... food and service that we received. Our waiter Blair was outstanding. He was welcoming, friendly and professional. He alwayschecked in with us in a timely manner, to see if everything was OK, or if we needed anything. Another server, Michael, wasterrific as well. We enjoyed talking with both of them. The food, was splendid. My wife's braised beef short ribs weredelicious and tender. My New York strip steak was also tender and absolutely perfectly cooked. And the 2 desserts we had, weredelicious as well. It has been a very, very long time, since we've had such a consistently excellent restaurant experience,when we dined out. We had just about given up hope... but then we found The Federal! We will most definitely be back and lookforward with great anticipation, to our next meal there. Again, simply superb! Read more
We had an amazing anniversary dinner there last night. Service was great… to keeping our waters filled and checking in how the... food was. We didn’t snap a pic of the risottos balls but they were amazing as always! Pictured is the short ribs with lobstercorn chowder and the diver scallops with lobster. AMAZING! thank you! Read more
