We are staying nearby for a wedding, and decided to try out Cipollina because it was walkable and had wonderful reviews. We were... not disappointed! I forgot to take pictures here is what we ordered: Apps Crema- Creamy, well seasoned tomato soup. Greatstart. Burrata- served with an eggplant (?) caponata, arugula and a parmesan crisp. This was really nice on the warm bread. Thecaponata was very tasty and I am usually anti-eggplant. Mains -Tortellini with prosciutto, peas tomatoes and garlic cream sauce.My 9 year old loved "the magical cheese purses" and even ate a good number of peas. -spaghetti w/garlic cream sauce. My other 9year old is very cautious of new foods so we asked if she could have something familiar to her. They were kind enough to makeher perfect al dente noodles in a light cream sauce. Lasagna- I would have eaten my own weight in their red sauce, it is sogood. The lasagna was very good, the noodles were lovely and tender, the ricotta was creamy and the meat was well seasoned. Itwas not smothered in mozzarella, but enough to get the stretch and chew. So good. Salmon over parmesan risotto. I didn't trythis one b/c it was gone before I could. I was told the salmon was cooked perfectly. Desserts! Cannoli:it was good, served withchocolate chips and pistachios. Cheesecake: not what you would expect, no crust and not as heavy as "NY" cheesecake. Lemon cake-limoncello icing and a springy sponge cake. Budino- Oh my God, I stole this from my child. A chocolate hazelnut pudding, smooth,not too sweet, not heavy, just so so good. (She was fine, there was plenty to share. Don't judge me.) I wish this place wasn't 7hours from my house. Great food - great staff. The Marsala Meatballs are so good - we get them every time. Chef always comes by the table to say... hello and make sure everything is just how you like it. This place is a gem. Read more
Gnnocci's needed more potatoes in the dough for my liking, but their red sauce was excellent. I would go back there as the... service was great and the chef came out to ask how everything was. They were very accommodating in serving everything as youasked for it. Read more
I had heard of the restaurant from clients so I decided to to take the jaunt from Clarence to Akron ? what a pleasant experience... .. from beginning to end our waitress was amazing! She was right on with her recommendations and knowledge of the food ? weordered the homemade bursts over caponata which was amazing and the white meatballs in wine sauce both outstanding.. for themain I ordered the lasagna which I never do at restaurants .. we make lasagna with béchamel and 99% of restaurants don?t makeit this way ? wow was it amazing .. can?t wait to go back ? it?s lacking just a few things that?s why I will give them 5 starsif they could PLEASE PLEASE DIM THE LIGHTS AND ADD A VOTIVE CANDLE AT EACH TABLE this would be truly a magical experience withfood this good Read more
Had reservations for tonight. Best Italian food I?ve had. Amazing service, amazing waiter, amazing food. The wine is lovely!... Can?t say enough nice things. Definitely recommend. Thank you for taking the time to put such love into the food you serve. Willbe going again! Read more
Reservations recommended. They were able to accommodate 2 of us without reservations on a Thursday(but had to turn others away... while we were eating.) Small but very nice, clean restaurant. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great dinner music and Hunter,the waiter, was a very pleasant young man who is good at his job. Highly recommend the antipasto della casa. (plenty for 2) Read more
Everything was of excellent quality except the "sauce" on the braised beef. Beef was tender, pasta cooked al dente.. However... the pompano described "sauce" tasted as if it was a can of tomato paste. Sweet and commercialized. Ruined the dish. Companionhad a sausage based sauce over pasta and we split a barata. Good quality mozzarella stuffed with fresh ricotta with caponta. Tiramisu was fine and the cassata cake had a very nice chocolate coating surrounding it.. The base of the cake was light inflavor with not an over abundance of sugar. Service was very friendly. It was a shame about the braised beef as it was aSaturday special. Read more
