Loved our lunch experience today! We sat in the bar for lunch & our server was absolutely fabulous. The salad was perfect, the... bread was soft & the ravioli had plenty of ricotta filling. My dining mates both got veal & although I usually don't eat veal Itried it & it was amazing. The food here is amazing. It is clean, good service, reasonable prices. It reminds me of going out to eat when I was a kid; it... was a big deal, and the staff acts like it is a big deal. We felt special and well taken care of. Highly recommend!!!!! If therewere more than 5 stars, this place would have 10. Excellent dining experience. Read more
I?ve lived in the area for years now and am only now finding out about this place sadly! Great pasta and meatballs. Wedding soup... was delish and the house dressing for the salad with great. They had a lemon cake on special I really wanted to try but was toofull. We will definitely be back. Cute unassuming local joint with friendly service. Read more
This has been our go to Italian spot for 30 years. Went this week and had the most terrible service. Our waitress has been... there forever was awful. Complaining that it was too hot to work, never walked around our table, instead she made us passeverything around. Spilled one of our drinks never offered to clean it up off the table, we had to ask her to. She snapped atour children because they didn't speak loudly or clearly enough for her. Quality of the food has gone downhill. When asked howeverything was when we paid our bill I responded with" not what we expect when we dine here". The cashier said OH OK, turned herback and rang up our check. Never will we go back! Read more
Really great authentic Italian cuisine! The homemade ricotta stuffed ravioli are the best! The marinara sauce tastes very... clean like fresh tomatoes. Not overly spiced with garlic. I like the marinara because it's NOT sweet. The salads are goodtoo. The Italian dressing is authentic tasting like vinegar which I prefer. Fair prices too. Shout out to Kathy! Dontino?s La Vita Gardens Craving the taste of Italy? Stop by this family-owned gem that?s been a part of the Akron area for... nearly 100 years! From the place mats and color schemes, to the vintage photographs and decor, Dontino?s La Vita Gardens servessomething we think is super important in dining experiences: authenticity. We absolutely loved the style of this restaurant, andwant to go back just to sit at the beautifully arranged bar (which we are SO sad we weren?t able to photograph). We didn?t getanything to drink, but were plenty satisfied with our pre-meal bread and salads. The house-made Italian dressing was absolutelywonderful, and the bread was fresh and refilled promptly upon our request! For our main courses, we got the baked manicotti andthe spaghetti with mushrooms. The spaghetti dish was very average, and we weren?t too wowed by any uniqueness or flavors. Butthe manicotti dish was absolutely DELICIOUS, and was probably the freshest we?ve tasted. Additionally, Dontino?s menu is large,diverse, and filled with incredibly reasonably priced items. Lovely experience, down to earth and quick service. Had the chicken Parm special which was delish. Salad with their house... Italian was refreshing and tasty. Lemon Italian cake was a perfect ending. Food was good and service was quick. $20.50 for a small plate of chicken Alfredo and a small salad seemed a little much. Our... waitress was older and very cranky. Pushing us to order before we harder even sat down. Was complaining how other tables werebeing loud and how they wouldn?t be loud if they were her tables. On the way out the door she was complaining to the front ofthe house how our two year old was fussy through out the meal and judged us as parents. Trust me we know he was fussy. Verydisappointing as I just left her a sizable tip because I know he was having a rough night. Read more
