New ordering system, same prices, no unlimited cornbread. Still nice customer service, but I didn't feel the southern... hospitality like I used to. Guess it's just a sign of the times. I realize we're all just trying to make it in thiseconomy.... Food is still great, but they should consider adjusting prices to match the competition if changing to thecompetition's ordering and table service model. Read more
My family has been patrons of several Jim n Nicks for many years, so we kind of know the drill. I though it was odd that when in... Covington, GA. my salad with brisket had a different cut of meat than the more lean flank steak style brisket from the past I'vereally enjoyed for years. Not too much fat so I didn't complain. Fast forward to this meal. The Brisket was 60% fat and gristle.The relatively new waiter informed me that it was because I hadn't ordered lean meat. Never have had to do this in the past. While he got me replacement meat that was leaner, it was only 40% fat and gristle. I hope this in not a sign of the qualitythat corporate bean counters are aiming for now that the wonderful Jim n Nicks has become owned by a conglomerate franchiseoperation. Fantastic food here. The ribs and all the sides we had were delicious. They have great outdoor seating available.
Update: Thursday, January 27, 2022. I went through the drive through and order the 2 pound rib dinner with small end ribs,... collard greens, and Mac and cheese. I also got banana pudding. My ribs were seasoned very good but I receive center cut and notsmall end like I requested. But, I still will give the ribs 4 stars ??. But my banana pudding I give it 1 ?? because they hadmore cream on the outside of the container and my portion inside was smaller than normal. In fact there is no banana pudding??! I? m very disappointed that they rushed and gave me with this mess.. ( See the pictures). I called and talked to themanager Kaylyn and she apologized for my order being incorrect. She reimbursed me and only charged me $6.75 for my order. Igive her 5 Stars ?? for her making me feel important and valuable. I gotthe lean end Rib bones with Bake Beans and Macaroni and cheese. Now, I was skeptical at first because I?ve only purchased fromthe one on Oxmoor Road in Homewood, Alabama. However, the ribs were seasoned down to the BONES. I was so surprised ???? andvery happy. They were delicious and I wished I had more. But, I give them 4 stars ?? only because they didn?t give me as manybones as the other location. Next, the baked beans were the best I?ve had in a long time. They were seasoned perfectly and theywere very good. 4 Stars ?? My Macaroni cheese was okay. I?ve had better. I give it 3 stars ??. The service could have beenbetter. But, will give her the benefit of the doubt, because she was in training. I had to wait for someone else to place myorder and print me out a receipt with the survey on it because she didn?t know how. Absolutely phenomenal place to go to, me and my mother make it a must eat whenever we do our yearly trip to visit relatives. The... prices are good and the atmosphere is good. The one we stopped at also looked clean, staff was also very friendly. The fooditself was absolutely amazing, we both got their signature barbecue sandwich and were not disappointed at all. If I don't quit going to places with Jim 'N Nick's I an going to get FAT(ter). Great food. We were there during an odd time so... staffing was limited but the service was still above average. I enjoyed the combo sliced brisket and pulled pork. My wife hadher usual loaded potato. We both left toting carry out boxes. I can almost already taste our next return trip. MMMMM Read more
Had great ribs and other BBQ type food here. Didn't care for the new style of ordering and serving. You walk up to a counter and... place your order. They give you a pager-like device to take to your table (sit where you want, I liked that). And they bringyour food. But, you don't have a dedicated server that checks on you. It wasn't a problem as I got the attention from a serveras they passed by. I just don't like this style of serving. Read more
