Carlos was absolutely rude and should not be a manager. He served me on a dirt napkin the first drink. I ordered a Mango... Margarita. I noticed that Carlos did not even pour 2 oz of tequila in the drink. He free poured for 2 secs. I tasted it and itwas watered down. I then asked him what he would reccommend and he was very short and nasty with me. Saying I dont know I likethem all just pick already. I asked for him to make another one this one top shelf since it tasted watered down. Carlos thenpours Luna Azul Tequila which is not Top Shelf! Carlos then shakes up the drink again without putting fresh ice in a cup. Onceagain its watered down. Carlos was being very rude and discriminatory towards me and I frequent this location a lot for lunch. Ihave never felt so disrespected and insulted in my life. I don't think I have ever given a one star review in my life. This was the most disappointing meal I have had in a very long... time. My fish tacos were a soggy bland mess and completely inedible, my sister's quesadilla was bland and dry... Not one of the5 people in my party enjoyed their food. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the chips and salsa. The service was poor aswell, we had to ask multiple times just to get napkins and silverware for our table. The server even looked confused asking howmany place settings we wanted... we said 5 since we had 5 people at the table. The cherry on top was the expensive price of themeals.. well above their value. Save your time and visit the La Penca Taco Bar (not the sit down part) on Park Street, theirfood is excellent and its hard for me to believe they are run by the same restaurant. Read more
I love Fridays at La Penca. Chicken nachos and margaritas........can't go wrong with those on Friday.
Great little Mexican restaurant hidden in the shopping center. The chips and salsa served had good flavor. The salsa has an... almost chipotle or smoked flavor and decent spice. I highly recommend the Strawberry Limeade, fresh squeezed and full of flavor.Food arrived hot and full of flavor. I was not a big fan of their pastor it seemed a bit dry. The rice on appearance made meconcerned I'm not big on corn in my rice but it was delicious. The tamale was very good. The service was a bit slow andoriginally messed up the order but they made it right. I would come back and try more of their items. Their burritos appearedvery large. Read more
One of our very favorite places to eat as a family in Alameda. All of the same, fantastic menu options as the location on Park... Street, but much more of a chill vibe and much easier parking. Nice outside dining next to the water, and a really pleasantstaff as well. Read more
