Food was terrible. Wanted to try here because its the furthest south I've been in New Mexico. It was so bad. I have no idea how... it has over 4 stars. If you are used to dining out and an are a foodie I wouldn't recommend it. Tostada was worst one ever.Chicken in the tacos was so dry. I had to dump all the salsa in there to take a bite. Relleno had all the seeds in it. Was sodisappointed. Read more

Service and food were equally bland. I guess somewhat you?d expect of such a small town. Most staff and patrons were Caucasian... in the Mexican restaurant. The sour cream dip served with the chips and salsa was yummy!! Read more

Quick service and delicious food! Lot of interesting combos and dishes I've not seen elsewhere. Si Senor combo was something... else! Gigantic, so many flavors. The green pozole was delicious, as was all the rest of the combo. Never had a combo like thisat a Mexican restaurant that has appetizer, entree, and dessert. The raspberry cheesecake was soo good too! They only have beerand wine based cocktails (maybe that's a Alamogordo thing? Haven't found Mexican with real margarita yet in town). They do havethe Dos Equis Ambar Especial which I like more than the standard Mexican beers, and pairs excellently with a lime and way toomuch food. Gary was a fantastic server, personable, got my order right, and everything came out quickly. Was hoping todetermine what Mexican restaurant was best in town, but I've only had good experiences at all of them so far. CJ's definitelyoffers some things I've not gotten elsewhere. Read more

We might have caught them on a bad day as the sign on the front door said no one wants to work anymore. So this review is based... solely on the food, not the service or wait time. The Cinco de Mayo special of two cheese enchiladas in red sauce with a beeftaco and beans and rice was solidly average. We could pick it apart as to why it wasn?t that great, but maybe being shortstaffed is the issue. The red enchilada sauce saved it. Bottom line: there are other choices in town worth trying. Really good food and service! It can be pretty busy on the weekdays. The wait-list moves pretty fast, and the wait is worth it.... Definitely recommend! Read more

I don?t know how they did it. But they put the flavor and cheap price and packed it it up into a nice bundle for you... enjoy. However, sopapilla was disappointing. I felt like I was eating bread. No sugar or cinnamon at all on sopapilla. Read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday with a co-worker. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. We waited another 5 to 10 minutes to... order and at least 30 more minutes for the food to arrive. After eating we had to ask more than once for a box and ourchecks. I had two beef stuffed sopapilla, one with mild green sauce and one with red sauce, that came with beans and rice. Thefood was good. The facility was clean, the decor was unique and interesting. The staff were polite and professional. Theprices were reasonable. I'll be back again if I ever have 2 hours to kill. I'm not sure if it's always this busy but man, fromthe time we stepped in the door to the time we finally walked out was just too long, especially for a business lunch. OtherwiseI would have rated it 5 stars. Read more

Wow, the food here is amazing, and that could be an understatement. Located on the main road, this restaurant demands respect,... and respect is truly deserved. If I lived an hour away, I would definitely take that drive to come here for a scrumptious meal.I assure you, you will leave truly satisfied and well fed. The facility is well maintained, the staff is super courteous, andthe COVID-19 mask wearing was enforced in order to enter. If you are ever in the area, please drop by and support this excellentestablishment. Read more
