Visiting Alamogordo town to meet my homeboy that lives there and he recommended this place and he nailed it. Green chile Chicken... lasagna was phenomenal. The bad. Unfortunately I don't think we will visit again. My wife's seafood pasta was cold and borderline inedible. I got the... spicy Romano chicken which the flavor was off and did not taste fresh. The good. The waitstaff was outstanding and listened toall our needs. And the cocktails were top notch. The problem is we went for a delicious meal and this restaurant fellegregiously short. Initially, I was annoyed because of what I considered an excessive wait time between us being seated and a server taking our... drink order, to the point we were about to leave because we were in a hurry. However, our server, Jasmine, quickly turned whatcould have been a negative experience into an extremely positive one. She was attentive, polite and accommodating. Her attentionto detail, great attitude and excellent customer service made our day. The food was wonderful, with Caesar salad being both onethe best I've had plus it was the perfect size for a before the entree salad. The lasagna was similarly both very tasty and ofthe right size. My daughter said the bow tie pasta was cooked to perfection and her meat balls were the best she'd had. Highpraise indeed from a very picky eater. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend Johhny Carino's to anyone and if you wantthe best service, be sure to ask for Jasmine. First time experiencing this restaurant and it was okay. I order a pecan salmon salad. The dressing was a bit heavy and salad... was a bit basic - romaine lettuce, onions and huge wedge tomatoes. I would of preferred the tomato?s to be cut smallerpersonally. The pizza - I?ve had better but it was chicken, red onion and mushrooms. It was again average tasting. The crustneeded to be softer and the pizza should of had a selection of sizes (4slices, 6 slices and 8 slices) but it was only 6 slices.The vibe was old and traditional. Service- understaffed and the staff mentioned that too. Please be prepared for a long waittime for your food. The waitress was nice and prompt was she was able to make it over to the table. The drinks are awesome and the appetizers hit the spot after a long day of work. My only negative marking is on the lasagna. The... lasagna on two separate occasions was pretty salty. Other than that the food was good. The staff is friendly and super helpful. They definitely take pride in their service. Read more
Okay food but service was spotty?. This started out pretty strong and would likely have been at least 4 stars but the service... dropped pretty quickly. By the end of the meal I had to go search for our server to get drink refills which is extremelydisappointing. Read more
The pictures are misleading. The pictures look good but the food did not reflect them. I could tell by how fast the food came... out. The sauce with the calamari tasted like ketchup. The calamari were decent but the bottled sweet chili sauce in the ramikinhad a piece of plastic in it. There was no manager on duty and the poor waitress was slammed so I did not report it. The saladwas cold but the dressing from a bottle was not impressive. My sons shrimp alfredo was served so cold I had to send it back. Theshrimp seemed raw. My daughters mac and cheese had the worst bacon in it. It was like bagged bacon bits. I had the sampler plateand the chicken lasagna was the hi lite. The cheese sauce made it. The chicken parmesan was inedible. The chicken was dry andthe tip of the serving was uncuttable with a knife. I think it was microwaved to toughness. The spaghetti and sauce was veryblah.
