Called ahead to try and order only to find out it has to be over $100. It was our first time here and didn't realize it was... so small and had a walk up & drive thru. It was actually very good BBQ. We did the buckle buster and shared it and it wasplenty for 2 people. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, they were out of the sausage, so we got a few more ribs. Thechicken and the shredded pork in my opinion was just okay. I have had better on that one. The brisket was good but have hadbetter. The sides were just sides. Corn was bland, potato salad was al dente and no seasoning. The cole slaw and baked beanswere run of the mill and nothing special. The BBQ is fantastic. The ambiance has a lot to be desired but this is basically a drive-thru so I am evaluating on taste alone.... We had two "Buckle Busters" for three to share and had leftovers. We would have been OK with one for three for a reasonablelunch. The brisket, ribs and pulled pork were fantastic. The sausage were OK. All were well flavored and the sauce wasexcellent. Next time, depending on my mood, I will go with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs in that order. Of the sides, I lovedthe slaw. They have picnic tables, a Porta potty, and wash station. I ordered ribs and they were so tender and flavorful. The barbecue sauce is good too.If you are in this area you should not miss... this place. You have to sit outside to dine and they have porta potty. Read more
I am no sure if this isn't the best BBQ brisket I have ever eaten. I have been to the County Line in Austin and this is as good... and maybe better. No joke. The brisket is soo tender and the bark is superb. Interesting potato salad, very good. The bakedbeans need less brown sugar and more paprika and some lemon zest. Overall, outstanding. Read more
We found this place while traveling from WA to CA. We wanted some food, but didnt want to stop at a fast food joint. The reviews... seemed good, so we thought "what the heck". We are glad we chose this place! The brisket was pretty darn good! It was a littlehard to eat as a sandwich. So we just used our fork to eat it and ate the bread as a side. The potato salad was good. A littlemore mustard then I normally like. But was still good. The cole slaw was also good. Not too sweet or too sharp. The brisket wastender, juicy and full of smoky goodness! We hope to be able to come again the next time we are traveling through the area! Theyalso have a nice little outdoor eating area. Read more
Great BBQ this is not. Great BBQ meat is smokey and tender, so delicious that putting sauce on it seems sinful. The meat was... moist (the chicken was dry) but lacked a bark and was not smokey enough. Great Sauce is smokey, a little sweet and a littlespicy with a tangy irresistible zing. Great sauce is so good you must put it on something. This sauce was obviously purchased ina can, cold, thick and syrupy, lacking in any complexity. It's more like fancy ketchup. People raved about the potato salad butwe found it tasteless. The BBQ beans tasted like someone spilled hand sanitizer in it. They were inedible and we threw them out.I regret pulling off I-5 for this. I hate to leave a negative review but I gotta keep it real. Read more
My first treat to enjoy this great BBQ. My first comment is how nice the team was. Everyone was great. Made me feel like I was... having bbq at the family house. I was told that the Brisket is the best thing on the menu.. So I gave the lunch brisketsandwich a try.. The hard choice was the sides besides. I decided to go with the cole salad and the potato salad. I highlyrecommend the potato salad it's probably some of the best I've ever eaten. The brisket sandwich is very moist and barbecued tothe perfect texture. Getting brisket right is really really hard and the guys have figured it out. They also do the oldstandards of pulled pork chicken and it looks like turkey once in a while. Do yourself a favor pull off the freeway and stop atthis place a place. You will really enjoy it.
