Reviews for Sushi & Sake in Albuquerque, NM

This restaurant used to be named Sushi & Sake on the east side but it moved to Nob Hill (a grittier but much trendier location)... and is now called, simply, Korean BBQ House. I love their specialty rolls, of which they have many. In particular, I recommendtrying the Orange Ball, Sushi Station, and Nob Hill roll. What makes this restaurant one of my local favorites is the fact thatthey have both great sushi rolls and Korean BBQ - and they do both well. The owner works her tail off every day and I have noidea how she knows so many recipies for such a broad variety of food. The decor is pretty authentic, which is the humble opinionof someone who lived in Los Angeles for most of his life and has had a lot of experience in all of the legendary Korean BBQrestaurants that defined the niche cuisine in its culinary mecca. The first time I walked in, I was impressed that this existedin ABQ. The city could do a better job with improving Nob Hill, but that has nothing to do with Korean BBQ House. I like thislocation for this restaurant, as it is an exciting addition to the variety of restaurants that make Nob Hill so fun. I know theowner cannot run this business alone forever, but until things change (I hope it remains a "home-cooked meal" type of restaurantfor many years to come), I highly recommend you stop by and give it a try. Just be patient during peak hours. No one wants towork anymore, and I can tell the owner is doing her best. Every night she is in the kitchen cooking these delicious meals forus, and I for one am grateful for this gem of a restaurant in Duke City. Read more

Super fun experience. You have to purchase 2 types of meat if you want to sit at the grill top, but just going for the sushi was... amazing too. Friendly staff, large portions! Read more

First time at this new location. Sushi was good but our favorite were the green muscles. The staff was also friendly.

4.5 stars. Dine in is great. Takeout is ok, wouldn't opt for this though. A bit expensive depending what you get. Service is... great & sake is reasonably priced. Sushi is pretty good all things considered. Traditional rolls are good. Recently tried aPhilly roll and it had krab in it, which is a miss for me but I like they change it up. Their fried mackerel is also consistent, its one my comfort meals but I never want to cook it at home. Korean BBQ: pretty happy to have a spot in ABQ with K-BBQ. It'snot all you can eat but you can still cook for yourself. It's a bit expensive, but hey I'm happy to see this. Kimchi-jjigaeisn't all that spicy, but I'd still recommend it to people that haven't tried it. Soju options can be limited. Read more

Went here on a date night. It's delicious. The fish is fresh and the Saka cheap and good. Which makes for a great evening. They... don't put a TON of sauce on the sushi been though some of the menu pictures have everything heavily sauced. So you actually cantaste all the unique flavors in each roll. Service was also on point even with our waitress was slammed. We never really feltignored. She answered our questions, kept our drinks topped off, and quickly asked more knowledgeable people if she didn'tknow. We only went for sushi, so I cannot speak for other things in the menu yet. The Wood's roll, pictured, was amazing. Ilook forward to visiting again. Read more
