My wife and I were passing through town, and on impulse stopped in. They were fairly busy at the end of a lunch hour, full of... locals. We were promptly greeted, and given menus. I chose the tenderloin and onion rings, she had the beef and noodles, with aside salad. My tenderloin was moist and tasty, not pounded paper thin. The onion rings were most excellent, crispy batter withtender well-cooked onion within. Great flavor, I could eat a large plate of them with no guilt! My wife let me sample her beef& noodles, and it was a pleasant surprise to find real beef (not just chopped little bits) in it. Very tender and flavorful, nottoo salty either. I stole some of her mashed potatoes, too. :) I wish I'd saved room for dessert, as I later got a look at theofferings in the dessert case. Our waitress was friendly and came by often to check on us. Rachel's isn't anywhere on a directpath to where we usually go on our travels, but I'm willing to make it a destination next time. I'd give them 5 stars, but Ineed to try more from the menu. The food was fine. It was basic diner food. That would have earned 3 or four stars from me but the service was not good. The... waitress was surly and rude. It was as if we were a huge bother to her day. The cashier wasn't any better. They were just asrude to the other patrons. Read more

I've driven by numerous times going from Anderson to Marion (and back), finally stopped in on a Saturday in the early afternoon.... It wasn't too busy, we found an open booth and were quickly given menus. I had two eggs overeasy, hash browns, and toast with acup of coffee. Eggs were good. Hash browns were a little dry or something - they were an interesting texture. Toast was regularwhite bread. Coffee was good diner coffee. My boyfriend had a sandwich with french fries. The fry I stole was nice andhot. Service was good, quick, no lingering. Interior was home-y. Prices were good, reasonable. Read more
